Seymour Duncan - in collaboration with legendary axeman Joe Bonamassa – have produced a faithful replica of the set of pickups that was found on Joe’s classic 1958 ‘Amos’ Gibson Flying V. They really do sound just as good as they look!
Alnico 6 magnets have been used, resulting in a combination of pure power, clarity and warmth which closely replicates the timeless tones of the originals. The cover has been hand made in the Duncan custom shop, with meticulous attention being paid to the small details. The nickel finish boasts the wear that is found on the original set of Amos pickups, making them really look the part too.
Techniques and materials utilised by Gibson during the fifties and sixties were used during the pickups production cycle. The butyrate bobbins have been wound on the historically correct Leesona winding machine that the brand operated during this period. A signature on them from Bonamassa himself and Seymour W. Duncan adds a nice finishing touch.
