Product Description

All your cravings for wild pitch shifting can be found right here in the Raster. This is no doubt Red Panda’s headlining pedal; a truly eclectic mix of warped, detuned shifting characters. So many potential sounds to be discovered, so little time.

Imagine the clean delay is your bare mannequin. It’s up to you what frilly outfits you’re going to dress it with. You could start with a bit of swirly chorus, maybe a slightly heavier layer of pitch shifting – either above or below your clean guitar note up to 12 semitones each side.

From there, you can reverse it, push it to feedback in a glorious mess or self-oscillate for bursts of rainbow colour. Add an expression pedal to the mix and it’s possible to apply your sound in small blasts. The Raster is absolutely insane but with a bit of practice, anything is possible.

About Red Panda

The boffins at Red Panda are all about pushing the boundaries of what can be done with natural, organic sounds. Forget your classic Klons and mundane reverbs, here it’s all trailblazing new effects using digital technology. This opens up the door for what can be achieved using the likes of guitars, keys and drum machines.

Red Panda are a small company focused on design process lasting 12-24 months. They use automated manufacturing to improve the reliability of their creations. All electronics are fully assembled in the USA, while the enclosures are CNC milled and powder coated in Canada.

Time to experiment.

Here's what Red Panda say about the Raster:

“The Raster is easily one of the most innovative and inspired pedals I’ve encountered in some time.” — Guitar Player

The Raster is a digital delay with a pitch- and frequency-shifter integrated into the feedback loop. It delivers a wide range of sounds including harmonized delays, reverse delays, chorus, arpeggios, infinite descents, chaotic self-oscillation, and continuously evolving soundscapes.

The core of the Raster is a clean delay with up to 750 milliseconds delay time. The low end of the delay control allows you to precisely dial in resonant feedback sounds. The feedback control covers a wide range from slapback delay to noisy, textured infinite feedback loops.

Three pitch shifting algorithms are integrated into the feedback loop. Slight detuning creates chorused delay sounds, while wider intervals with feedback create strange organ-like textures. Beyond pitch shifting, a combination phase/frequency shifter creates subtle evolving repeats, dissonant harmonies, and barber pole flanging.
