PRS Pauls Guitar Faded Whale Blue Smokeburst Ltd Edition
Pauls guitar is a production line version of his own private stock model that he himself uses in studio and on stage. Every bit of this guitar was spec'd up by Paul and has some interesting features that separate it from any other PRS.
The 408 pickups were birthed when PRS was still building guitars and experimenting. They have 4 coils and 8 sounds (because you have the small mini toggle to engage the coil tap). With the 3 way toggle to switch between which pickup you want to use, you can get loads of sounds from this guitar.
Made In Maryland
Like all USA PRS guitars this has been made in their Maryland factory which mixes traditional luthiers and machines to make a guitar to the highest quality every time while still keeping that personal hand made touch. Made with a mahogany body and neck that have been topped with some beautiful figured maple and rosewood respectively. This guitar has a sound unique to it with a focused midrange that cuts you through the mix without sounding muddy.
The neck on this guitar is the stunning Pattern neck which isright in the middle of a thin and chunky neck. It fits in the palm, and lets you really dig in with your left hand but is still fast enough for you to get around the fretboard.
Here's what PRS say about the Paul's guitar
Designed and played by Paul Reed Smith for players and guitar aficionados the world over. “These guitars have a beautiful new look and a highly musical tone that I love,” Paul Reed Smith.
Carrying on the Modern Eagle tradition, Paul’s Guitar is essentially a production version of his Private Stock guitar. Paul specified every appointment of this instrument from the wood selection and inlay design to the pickups.
“The stoptail bridge is still our aluminum bridge but at the point at which the string starts vibrating it’s brass to promote the musical high range of the guitar,” said Paul. With exclusive “brushstroke” bird inlays and two narrow 408 pickups, this guitar is not only unique...it’s the guitar that Paul Reed Smith has been playing in his studio and on the stage.
