ESP LTD SN-1000FR in Aqua Marine
If you are a big fan of ESP guitars you will know that they have a few guitars that are kept as Japanese exclusives. One of those that was kept off British shores for some time was the Snapper but now it is finally here in full force as part of the LTD Deluxe 1000 series range! This model in particular is made for the shredder who wants something with a bit more of a traditional look but all the flare and punch of a moder super s type guitar.
Old Meets New
Even if you are a shred machine that wants to play just the most extreme of metal sometimes the beauty of a traditional 50's style guitar is just too much to pass up. So this guitar follows one of these designs but updates with some more modern hardware and design options that means you will fit in on any stage. Starting out you have a double cut basswood body that keeps the whole guitar extremely lightweight and lets the midrange really punch through the mix.
On top of that you have a beautiful piece of flamed maple that gives it a bit more flare than you would expect out of similar looking guitars. Next up you have the all maple neck which is slim and smooth so that nothing will get in the way of your hands when you want to really dig in to a solo.
When it comes to choosing your pickups one of the first choices you make is 'Will I go active or passive?'. If high output is your goal you can not go wrong with a set of active pickups and if that is your choice then the obvious choice would be a set of powerful EMG pickups. This guitar features a mixture of humbucker and single coil pickups with an EMG 85 in the bridge and a set of SA single coils in the middle and neck positions. This opens you up to a wide range of different tones that can carry you through every part of rock and metal no matter how much gain you need.
Floyd Rose Tremolo
Now what lead focused guitar would be complete without some kind of flexible tremolo system. ESP love giving you ultimate control and flexibility so they have included a Floyd Rose tremolo that will let you dive down to the depths and create squeals that are only possible with a floating edge tremolo system like this.
