Behold the latest Chapman signature guitar - the ML1 Rabea Massaad signature model. Made for Dorje & Toseland guitarist Rabea Massaad, the ML1-RM is based on the popular Chapman ML1 but with a few cool tweaks!

First: the body is made from Alder rather than mahogany, making it a little lighter and snappier sounding. Then we added a 1000 Series Floyd Rose trem & locking nut system. The neck is made of maple with an ebony fret board, with a slim & fast feeling profile. We also designed a set through neck joint that was custom hand sanded by Rabea to give him the exact feel that he wanted.

The pickups are genuine USA made Seymour Duncans with an SH1-59 in the neck and a Floyd spaced SH5 Duncan Custom in the bridge. Rabea requested that we remove the tone control, so you just have a simple volume pot that can be pulled out to coil tap the pickups. The guitar features a quilted maple veneer and is finished with a beautiful and understated wax finish that allows the guitar to resonate vibrantly & will also age nicely. The ML1-RM will include a Chapman deluxe gig bag.

The edges around the top of the guitar are slightly rolled to give extra comfort to the inside of the right arm when playing.

A message from Rabea about his guitar

Hello People!

It's Rabea here. First of all it should be recognised that I am so grateful for the opportunity to create this amazing guitar with Chapman Guitars, so thank you Rob and Lee.

As some people may be aware, I am a huge Nuno Bettencourt fan, and I have used the N4 guitars for about 5 years now, I love them to death! i swore i wouldn't ever use any other guitar.... however I never dreamed that I would be in this situation, when someone says, "we'll make you a guitar" I thought to myself, "I know it would be an N4 inspired guitar, but how could I change it to something I felt had more 'Me' in it"

My first guitar was a Washburn X-50 which some may know, it has a quilted maple top, an X inlay at the 12th fret and was a great, great guitar! Thus I decided to fuse the things I liked the most from the X-50 and the N4 and put them together. Having the looks of the X-50, but with the foundations of the N4 AND... It worked out GREAT!!! I couldn't be happier with the result and this guitar really holds its own in feel, looks and tone!

It will age amazingly with a wax finish, the quilt is glorious yet understated and the neck is so similar to my N4, it literally feels like the same guitar.

The only thing that I couldn't do the same was the Stephens Extended Cutaway feature on the N4 guitars. I asked for a double spoon cut instead to give me upper access. When proto 2 came back, it was SO close, but the spoon cut on the back was just a little thin in width. so I sanded it to my comfort and feel. Now it's literally perfect! I couldn't be happier.

I urge you to try one of these guitars out, for the money, it feels insane and it sounds incredible! Coil taps, double humbuckered floyd loaded axe of alder and ebony WIN!!!
