Resonator guitars such as this Sigma RM-140E+ pack some serious punch and have a distinctive tone beloved by bluegrass and blues musicians.
The metal cone on the front of the guitar is responsible for that uniquely loud, cutting tone that works so well for blues, bluegrass, country, and especially for slide playing. The mahogany construction of this resonator's body gives it a slightly warmer, mellower, and all together a less harsh tone than you'd find on a metal bodied resonator. The RM-140E+ has a round neck profile and can therefore be played in the same position you would with a standard acoustic guitar.
An added benefit of this resonator is the built in Tesla pickup in the neck position and built in volume and tone controls meaning this guitar is already set up to play live through and amp as well as acoustically!
