With a sound far larger than its deceptively small body, Atkin Guitars’ LG47 offers a warm, charming tone and alluring vintage aesthetics.

Premium Slope-Shoulder Design

As the name might suggest, Atkin’s LG47 is inspired by Gibson’s classic LG series, introduced in the ‘40s. It combines a relatively compact slope-shoulder body shape with scalloped X-bracing – despite its smaller size, it doesn’t compromise on tone.

The classic Sitka Spruce & Mahogany combination gives you a surprisingly responsive low-end, while the use of Rosewood and Ebony in the fretboard, bridge and headstock adds a little extra midrange attack. The result is an old-school warmth that’s perfect for fingerpicking and flat-picking alike.

Finish & Electronics Options

Atkin offer two types of finish for all of their guitars: aged and mirror finish. Both are nitrocellulose, but as the name suggests, the former has been painstakingly aged for that vintage vibe. It's also worth noting that while none of the Atkins come with built-in electronics, we'll happily fit some for you. The recommended systems are as follows:

Handmade in Britain

Based in Canterbury, UK, Atkin Guitars proudly offer a range of stunning hand-built acoustic guitars. Their highly-acclaimed instruments are widely considered some of the best on the market, and come with a certificate of authenticity and a lifetime warranty.

Founded in 1995 by Alister Atkin, the aim of the game is uncompromising tone. While all of Atkin’s instruments are handmade, they aren’t afraid to experiment with modern technology. This combination of traditional luthiery and an open-minded approach yields the same results time after time; the ultimate acoustic guitar experience.

As well as their core line, Atkin offer custom builds and are happy to take requests. If you've got any questions about tweaks to your Atkin acoustic, please get in touch with us.
