    Compact Wavetable Synthesizer

Designed alongside Modal’s Skulpt synth, the CRAFTsynth offers a similar experience while taking the portability factor a step further. At just 15cm wide, it’ll fit neatly into any bag or onto any work surface. This makes it ideal for the musician on the move, looking to take their creativity with them!

Yes, it’s small, but it’s also pretty darn formidable. 8 oscillators with 2 selectable waveforms allow for plenty of creative legroom. In total, you’ve got 40 unique waveforms at your disposal, opening up a mind-bending number of combinations for something so compact.

    Powerful features

Much like the Skulpt, the CRAFTsynth features a unique interface that’s surprisingly intuitive. Despite its simplicity, it allows you to tweak and adjust with ease thanks to a diagonally-orientated control panel. Behind the control panel, you’ve got everything from phase modulation to bitcrush, not to mention the envelopes and LFOs. The CRAFTsynth is about the most fun you can have at this price point!

Tiny little synth, i use the Modal app mainly for the randomiser function and adjust the patches it gives. Still learning how to use synth but its fun instrument to tweak and mess about with.

I am new to synthesis, this is a great first time synth, coupled with the Modal App it is intuitive, you can see in real time on the app how you are affecting the sound by tweaking all those things you've heard about but didnt know what they were. learn on this before you splash out on something more expensive

    Mr Lee Jackson21st Nov 2020

I'm a novice but I'm loving playing around with this. Its got a Forbidden planet sound, had to have it!

I love how it works and all the time I like to see what sounds I can pull out of it brilliant if you need a small/midi synth

    Terry Relph-Knight20th Jun 2019

The Modal CS2 synth is way more complex than it appears, you get a lot for your money. It is quite difficult to exactly set an intended sound and I suspect many people may end up selecting a preset sound almost at random. Nothing is provided with the CS2, you have to download (and for full understanding of the CS2, study) the manual. The ModalApp does help in understanding the synth and I even managed to get the Windows version to run on Linux under Wine.
