The J-45 Studio is a new addition to the Gibson Montana line-up and essentially replaces the ever-popular J-15 model. The J-15 was always like the smaller brother of the J-45 in terms of being a simplified guitar with an uncomplicated aesthetic. It still has those same powerful, warm acoustic tones though!
Body & Neck Construction
The J-45 Studio has got a Walnut back and sides and Sitka Spruce top making for a guitar that’s both warm-sounding with a crisp top end sparkle. The natural slope-shoulder shape of the dreadnought lends itself to warm mid-range and bass frequencies which is why Gibson have opted for the Walnut and Spruce top to brighten up the top-end.
The neck is made of Mahogany which is sturdy and will keep the tension and action in check and features an advanced response carve. The advanced response carve makes it easier than ever to fret chord shapes all over the neck giving your wrist and hands a break when playing those long sets!
Pickup & Electronics
The LR Baggs VTC pickup gives you control over the tone and volume from your guitar allowing you to adjust the EQ for whichever room you’re performing in. It offers a true and transparent response ensuring that you sound as good live as you would if you were just hearing the guitar in a room acoustically.
