BC Rich Mockingbird Guitars
The Mockingbird is BC Rich’s most enduring electric guitar design, first released in 1976. Initially finding favour with the likes of Joe Perry (Aerosmith) and Lita Ford (The Runaways), the model experienced a renaissance of sorts in the early ‘90s — with Slash (Guns N' Roses) wielding a Mockingbird in the music video for the hit song “You Could Be Mine” and regularly using one on stage during GNR's Use Your Illusion world tour.
There are several variations of the Mockingbird that exist within BC Rich’s current lineup. The Legacy Series models are a real nostalgia trip; paying homage to the earliest BC Rich Mockingbird instruments. These are distinctive for their Quilted Maple tops, Wenge body stringers, DiMarzio humbuckers and various tone-changing switches — with the ST sporting a Floyd Rose, and the STQ featuring a highly-adjustable hardtail bridge. The BC Rich Extreme Series Mockingbirds are a more modern affair; boasting active Fishman Fluence pickups, 5-piece Maple/Wenge necks and extra jumbo frets for increased power, stability and playability.
