The RCF SUB 708-AS II 18” Active Subwoofer delivers a punchy and robust bottom end, handling all the necessary lows needed for a portable, modern sound system.
Small Size, High Power:
Its large 18” speaker is contained within a strong enclosure, and the SUB 708-AS II has enough power for a number of live applications. Its 18-inch speaker is driven by a powerful 1400W digital amplifier, ensuring that you get a clear and detailed low-end at any venue.
The subwoofer is optimised to work best with other RCF speakers, however it can be used with other brands and sits particularly well with 12” and 15” speakers.
Two selectable EQ controls allow you to sculpt the best low-end for a certain venue, space or event. So if you’re using this SUB 708-AS II for live sound, theatres, houses of worship and more, this subwoofer will cover most bases.
Solid Construction:
The SUB 708-AS II has a birch plywood enclosure covered with durable epoxy, and a strong metal grille that protects the front. Its solid construction ensures that the speaker can survive gig after gig, and the arch-shaped grille makes sure that when subjected to pressure or stress it can withstand strong forces.
Its moderate weight makes transportation easy, but no strength is sacrificed thanks to its high-quality build. Ergonomically placed recessed side handles make moving the speaker easy, and keeps it looking sleek and well-designed.

LEGENDARY RCF TRANSDUCERS
The new high-power 18-inch woofer is the result of the latest refinement in years of RCF experience in compact active subwoofer design and manufacture, providing a fast and controlled reproduction of the bass frequency range.
The SUB 708-AS II woofers feature high sensitivity, excellent linearity and very high power handling capabilities. M-roll surround and spider design offer great linearity and precise reproduction. The newly designed basket offers superior strength and improved lightweight for easier transportation.
STEREO FEMALE XLR INPUTS (BAL/UNBAL).
LINK/XOVER OUT SWITCH
The output link is flat when the switch is OFF (the output signal is the same as the input signal), or is high passed when the switch is ON (to connect a satellite speaker).
XOVER SWITCH
This switch sets the crossover frequency of the output at 80 Hz or 120 Hz.
PHASE SWITCH
This switch reverses the phase of the output signal.
VOLUME CONTROL
It adjusts the amplifier volume.
STATUS LEDS
3 status LEDs – Power / Signal / Status are provided for monitoring the system.
IEC AC SOCKETS
The IEC AC socket provides IN-OUT connections for the power cable to the socket and additional power link.
POWER MAIN SWITCH
The power switch turns the AC power ON and OFF.
CABINET & MECHANICS
The birch plywood enclosure is coated with black, heavy-duty, textured epoxy and the front is protected by a strong, powder-coated metal grille. The cabinet features a 35 mm pole mount socket and two comfortable recessed side handles. Every detail is developed in order to optimize acoustical performance and ensure easiness of transport.

Thanks to the use of modern technologies and an integrated DSP, our bass-reflex loudspeakers provide the same sound pressure of a band-pass, without compromising sound quality.
CURVED PROFILE FOR A BETTER SOUND
Two sides show a distinctive inward curve. The reason behind this original design choice is related to sound optimisation. In a cabinet with a standard design, sound waves reflect on the cabinet’s edges, thus creating undesired effects of absorption and disturbance or decreasing sound coverage. In our SUBs sound waves don’t hit the sides because of the slightly concave profile with moulded edges that helps avoiding all acoustical drawbacks.
HEAVY-DUTY FRONT GRILLE
Instead of being simply flat, the grille shows a distinctive design with 3 sides. This arch-inspired structure adds resistance to the whole system, creating a more balanced distribution of forces when the stage monitor is subject to stress and pressure, as often occurs during tours and live performances.
ONLY 4 INVISIBLE SCREWS
This charming cabinet is firmly anchored by 4 screws only. The screws are carefully tighten and hidden into small built-in holes, for a sleek and discreet aesthetics of the cabinet. Invisibile bolts are also less subject to wear and tear.
ULTRA-RESISTANT STEEL POLE MOUNT
Thanks to the integrated steel pole mount, the SUBs can be easily combined with another speaker with a few simple moves. The use of steel instead of plastic makes the whole system particularly reliable and robust, thus allowing to choose a heavier monitor without the risk of damage.
PERFORATED HEX GRILLE
The hexagonal shape of the holes is chosen with the purpose to maximise the empty space on the grill, thus making sound propagation clearer, with less absorption and reflection. The perforated hex grille allows the sound to propagate freely, with less disturbance if compared to circles or other shapes. At the same time these grilles are particularly strong and rugged, ideal for use on the stage.
INNOVATIVE GRILLE FIXING
The grille is fixed by specialized technicians in our Italian factory, with an innovative component that avoids grille vibration: a small isolating rubber element placed between the cabinet’s edges and the grille, in order to avoid undesidered acoustical interference due to the grille’s oscillation.
FOAM BACKING
A special transparent-to-sound foam backing on the inside of the grille ensures protection from dust and humidity.
