Expressive Touch

The Yamaha YDP-S52 uses a synthetic ivory graded hammer (GH) keyboard to provide an authentic feel and expressive touch to your experience. Not only does the piano feel great to play, it uses highly absorbent materials so that its more durable. This means that you can play for years and the feel will be just as fresh and responsive as the day you bought it.

Pure Tone

The YDP-S52 is equipped with the "Pure CF sound engine". This piano sound was recorded from Yamaha's renowned CFIIIS concert grand piano, that you will find in top venues around the world. There's also a range of other great sounds to choose from that you can access from the piano itself or conveniently from the partner iOS Piano controller app.

These great sounds are perfectly recreated by the piano. It's cabinet uses Acoustic Optimisers that regulate the sound and tone to give a smooth, natural sound across the keyboard range.

Shh, We Don't Want to Disturb the Neighbours

Yamaha have realised that in a lot of homes, it is not practical to have the piano playing at full blast all the time. So they have developed some great features that help you get the best sound without bugging your family or neighbours.

Usually when you are listening to music at low volumes, it can be hard to hear the bass and high treble- which is why people like to turn things up loud! To combat this, Yamaha have created Intelligent Acoustic Control (IAC) that adjusts the sound automatically, so that you can enjoy a realistic balanced sound at any volume level.

If you really need to be silent, like when practicing late at night; you can plug in some headphones and take advantage of Yamaha's Stereophonic Optimiser. Yes it sounds like something out of Dr Who, yet it simply gives you the same experience as if you were listening through the speakers. It gets rid of that close, claustrophobic feeling and creates a spacious sound image that will make you want to play silently for hours.
