Great distortion, a bit too noisy on high gain, so noise gates will come in handy but if you don't mind high / more gain noise / hiss then this is great value for money.

This is a great distortion. What's makes it great to me is the ability to have LOW gain distortion. Unlike most where you get all or nothing, this guy allows you to hone in on lower gain settings.
In character, it reminds me of my Little Brute Drive, but with a tad less upper mids pushed and a tad more low end.
It has a wide frequency response and good attack characteristics. Very quiet operation, too.

Love it !!! Works great with single coils or humbuckers ... excellent distortion ... my preference is about 12 o clock on the gain with the gain switch to normal... really nice thick full chunky distortion... for the price .... this bad boy is incredible.... listen to the you tube videos ..... they will give you a pretty good idea of what you can expect ..... expect to smile

Amazing Tone! Anything Rabea is apart of you know is going to sound Amazing!! Love the look of this pedal. Metallic black with gold.Does not look like a $40 pedal at all. Awesome pushed cleans tones to High Gain. Nice Thick high gain!!

I'm only a bedroom player and not that experienced with guitar FX but was tempted by these pedals after seeing them demonstrated in Anderton's video. Seem to perform as expected, neat size, and good value while at the same time very well made.

The versatility of tones is impressive!! Rabea did a video comparing this pedal to his most expensive pedal and I was a little skeptical that it was marketing video magic. But clearly the marketing magic worked like a charm because I'm a sucker. Lol! When I plugged it in, I was very pleasantly surprised that I was instantly able to play every lead Rabea does!!! Ok... not really... but the quality of tones and the versatility it can produce was quite impressive! It is my primary distortion pedal now.

Great compact little pedal. But after 2 weeks I'm still looking to find that sweet spot. For me and when playing modern metal, using my Les Paul with a DiMarzio Super Distortion PUP in the bridge and a PAF Pro in the neck, I usually use my amp's high gain channel (H&K Grandmeister 40 Ultra Channel) with the gain set quite low, then use a TS pedal with a boost in front to kick the tone along and tighten the lows.
However I have been experimenting with the Wild Fro as an alternative to the TS and find that the pedal tone is optimum at about 9/10 o'clock on the gain dial with the level just up over half way. Still playing with the tone knob, but its usually pushed to 3 o' clockish. The 'more gain' switch not engaged.....(yet).
In this setup, compared to the TS there's more perceptible harmonics and expression possible with picking dynamics. However the tone is less 'smooth' and a bit more gritty than the TS, which would be expected but it offers a different feel. I'll be keeping it on my board.
On clean amp settings the pedal isn't so successful for me. Sounds like a thin layer on top.
Also on the LP neck PUP, on the lower strings the tone is a bit muffled......

Perfect balance of gain. Pedal sounds great for Mathrock drive tones. I like it a lot better than the wildfire. The gloss finish isn't necessarily my style, but it's barely noticeable so not much to complain about.

As a big fan of Rabea Tones (especially ambient ones) I ordered this pedal and after few days of usage, I didn't came closer. The low gain (stacked with a TS 8) was the best tone I could extract. It sounded very juicy and warm. Getting close to a JCM 800 feeling. On high gain, I was a little bit disappointed. I found it a bit harsh and fizzy. However this is an excellent value for the money. The crazy high gain tones of Rabea are the product of Victory Kraken amps in Stereo. Don't be fool like me and expect this cute pedal to get anyway near :) however for this price the pedal is fairly a good choice.

I wasn't expecting much for the price-point but wow! The metal casing and metallic paint are very striking. I expected the dials and switches to be built to a price but they are super smooth and work well.
Overall a lot of range of gain on this pedal and I expect through a valve amp you'd get more tonal colour at the lower gain. I have only tried it so far with a small solid-state practice amp and it sounded a little thin when compared to just cranking the gain on the amp. I think though when using it on low gain and with a bit of level you'd get a bit of a drive/boost effect from your valves. Looking forward to trying it on more gear. Very happy with the versatility.

Seriously impressive pedal for the price and size. It gets a bit fizzy/fuzzy on the top end when it's cranked all the way up but still fine for my random chugging and most metal songs. Nice that it sounds good turned down.

I don’t use a lot of high gain distortion but Rabea’s Wild Fro sounded so good in the demo’s I just had to give a try alongside Pete’s Durple which I ordered at the same time.
Very impressed by the full fat sound and the versatility. It pairs great with my Strat and Tele.

I was excited when this came out, as I previously had the Wild Fire that it was based on and had a good experience with that one. This pedal proved to be as versatile as expected. It sounds great at low and high gain settings alone, with a very usable tone knob. I'm really using it for stacking with other pedals, and I think it shines there. I run an always on Greer Lightspeed with the Wild From into it, pedal set gain at noon on the low setting, kicking it on for lead lines or bluesy solos. If I want to kick it over the edge, I kick on a Mini Tubescreamer running into it. I've rarely had a pedal that sounds good stacked in a 3 pedal group, but this one does. If I flip the switch to the high gain setting, even without the TS into it, it can get a solid metal tone for my needs. Great job with an affordable pedal. It kicked a much higher priced pedal off my board.

I love low gain overdrive pedals. The wild fro is based on another pedal that is a little more expensive. This was a great way to add more flavor to my pedalboard without busting the bank.

Sounds really good with single cool pickups a. D really has a mic punch, is also has a red internal Led which light up when signal is passed through qhich can be seen from around the small pots (doesn't specify this in description but is a meet little feature)

The main issue I'm having is a bit of background noise while the pedal is in my signal chain. This may be due to the adapter, and not the pedal, I will be testing with a Voodoo Labs box soon
