Product Description

The Taylor 356CE 12 String is the Grand Symphony shape of the Taylor 300 Series family. For those unfamiliar with the GS body type it is very similar in shape to a GA (Grand Auditorium) but slightly bigger. That means you get the same sweet brightness you'd expect from a GA but with a little extra body and low end oomph. The on board pre-amp means you can have that same great tone amplified! And 12 strings means you can play 'Wanted' by Bon Jovi!....Ok, well there are other reasons to own a 12 string...

Sapele’s clear, balanced tonal properties are well-suited for a 12-string. The cutaway acoustic/electric 356ce gives you plenty of midrange and top-end shimmer, balanced by the low-end power of the Grand Symphony body shape. An ultra-playable neck has a comfortable feel and smooth action.

To finish it this guitar has black binding, a black pickguard, Italian acrylic dot fretboard inlays, and a 3-ring rosette and ships in a Taylor deluxe hardshell case.

Expression 2

The guitar features Taylor’s Expression System 2 pickup for a smooth plug-and-play experience. All 12 strings ring out with great clarity when plugged in and this guitar is ideal for both studio and live work.

Here's what Taylor say about the 300 Series

A pair of new GS models, a 6-string 316ce and a 12-string 356ce, bring full-bodied voices to our 300 Series this year. The entry point to an all-solid-wood guitar experience, our 300 Series models feature Sitka spruce with sapele, which produces tonal properties similar to mahogany but with slightly less midrange bloom and a little more treble zest. Its tonal range and balance make it a great choice for an assortment of playing styles. Clean, understated appointments include black binding with white purfling, dot inlays, and a three-ring rosette. Sapele’s similar complexion with mahogany also makes for a cohesive blend of color and grain between the back, sides and neck.
