I bought this item as I wanted decent piano, EP, and clav sounds in a quality keyboard and with a few built in FX for home use and at a reasonable price point. Having seen a handful of online reviews I was convinced this was the right option. Having not experience a semi-weighted keyboard before, I found this one to be of great quality (Fatar), has a nice tactile feel. Semi weighting doesn't offer much more over non-weighted, but I prefer that to fully weighted or hammer action. takes a while to get used to using the right amount of force for the desired output for each keystroke - but the velocity curve can be customised if needs be. The Chassis is not of great quality. Has a nice finish but is a moulded plastic which flexes quite easily. This may be an issue unless you're using a desk top or very sturdy stand. The buttons and switches too could be better, but I guess this is where a lot of the cost savings come from which bring it down to a very reasonable price, but will disappoint some users. A 73 key variant would've been better for me for space and playing requirements (61 keys aren't enough). Regarding the sounds/samples - I previously owned a Hammond SK which had the usual piano, EP, clav sounds etc. and, although not highly commended, I found these quite satisfying, particularly when played using the onboard FX. I also have an old Casio Previa piano and find the onboard samples mediocre by todays standards. The Numa Compact 2 seems to sit somewhere between these two in terms of the quality of it's sound samples, with the Concert piano samples having the edge on Casio equivalent and the EP having much greater depth, though I still think the Hammond EPs were better as were it's range clavs. The organ sounds seem okay, but I am a Hammond guy, so I don't need this. I wouldn't entertain using it in performance, but I think it would be adequate for some performers with plenty of preset variations for different styles. I don't play synths, but I was impressed with the inbuilt synth sounds compared to what I've experienced from other keyboards - I understand this is Studiologic's forte. The onboard FX were again a little disappointing. Adequate for home use and maybe passable for some performance/production - but most musicians will want something a bit better. A way effect would be nice and the distortion is pretty poor, but I haven't heard a good one on a keyboard yet. Overall the sounds and fx sound a little thin to me. This may be improved with a decent amp or preamp, but so far I have only tested with home monitors. The inbuilt speakers are a good feature, but seem a little pointless as they only make the samples sound even thinner - for what you get out of them, you are better off with a decent set of headphones as the speakers will not provide sound enough for anything more than home practice anyway. In summary, if you want something that has the features of and handles like a Nord Electro, Roland VR or Korg SV, but can't justify the cost - this is the ideal rig. However, the sacrifice you will make is the quality of the sounds and FX and the sturdiness of the chassis and switchgear. Definitely suited more to the home studio than the stage.

I needed something with a good sounding piano, light and portable. This fit the bill. Very happy with my purchase.

I wanted a versatile keyboard for songwriting and live use, and for this price there’s no competition. Excellent Fatar TP/9P semi-weighted keybed with after-touch, great piano/Hammond/strings etc sounds, highly compact format- what else could you want? Very happy!

Light, great sounds, portable.

absolutely superb product. Watched a ton of online reviews before ordering and managed to get a very competitive price from Andertons, believe the hype, this product is as great as all the reviews state.
