Solid Construction

Squier's Paranormal Series Jazz Bass '54 features a Poplar body; a balanced-sounding material that serves as an excellent tonal foundation for the punchy J-style single-coil pickups. A light material too, this makes the Squier '54 Jazz Bass a great live workhorse!

Joined with a bolt-on Maple neck, this wood brings in some crisp top-end that offers a fast and snappy response - even when playing finger-style licks. Fitted with 'Narrow Tall' frets and featuring a narrow 1.5" nut width, the playability of this bass is simply sublime with its comfortable "C"-shaped neck profile also sure to appeal to modern players and traditionalists alike.

Fender-Designed Alnico Single-Coils

The Squier Paranormal Jazz Bass '54 comes equipped with a pair of Fender-designed alnico single-coils. With these hot yet versatile pickups, you can expect classic Jazz Bass tonal potency with plenty of articulation. Their definition and clarity will allow your playing nuances to shine gloriously through almost any bass amplifier!

Excellent perfect condition

Mr Alan Wadey13th Nov 2020

This is not an expensive bass, yet it has a beautifully crafted neck and rolled edge finger board. The sound is fantastic and rivals that of my active basses. The bass feels great to play and stays in tune, the pick ups appear to have a hum bucking effect when they are both on which may well be the norm for passive J-basses, but is a nice feature regardless. I would also like to point out that it has a somewhat unique aesthetic, being a "what if" marriage of the '54 P-bass with the stack pot jazz ('61 I believe.) I would recommend this as a first instrument to anyone taking up the bass, or as an addition to a more experianced player's collection.

It's a great looking and sounding bass and excellent value for the money. It's a unique hybrid and I can't wait to gig with it.
