Product Description

The Paranormal Series goes far beyond what we think we know about Squier guitars. It embraces forgotten models, dabbles in what could have been, and stirs the pot of familiar Squier specs. Fender fans will know of the Cabronita — a solid-body, humbucker-equipped Telecaster. But the Squier Baritone Cabronita Tele is a completely different beast, sporting a pair of punchy soapbar pickups and tuned down to 'B Standard' for bellowing, bass-like tones!

FSR Paranormal Baritone Cabronita Telecaster

This limited edition Squier Paranormal model boasts a super-cool Olive Green finish with a stealthy black anodized pickguard — exclusive to Andertons! If you're after a baritone guitar with some attitude, this is just what you need. And at an affordable price-point too, it's perfect if you want to broaden your sonic horizons without breaking the bank!

Key Features

  • Poplar Body — Lightweight material with a balanced sound; the ideal tonal foundation for the pickups.
  • Bolt-On Construction — Produces a snappy note response for an immediate playing experience.
  • 27" Scale Length — Longer than a conventional electric guitar scale; allowing the instrument to be tuned down lower while retaining solid string tension.
  • "C"-Shaped Neck — Slim profile provides comfortable playability, suitable for both traditional and contemporary players.
  • Narrow Tall Frets — Offer a controllable feel for wide vibrato and pitch-perfect string bends.
  • Fender-Designed Alnico Soapbar Pickups — Dual single-coil "soapbar" pickups deliver the clear, bell-like sounds synonymous with Fender guitars, with a touch more "silkiness".
  • String-Through-Body Hardtail Bridge — 6-saddle bridge allows you to precisely set the action and intonation for each string, with the string-through-body design boosting sustain.
  • Vintage-Style Tuners — High-quality, old-school tuning machines allow for precise string pitching.

Really well built and offers a heavier sound than standard guitars. The finish is flawless and it sounds great with an Orange micro dark amp head. Only tiny issue was a little fret buzz straight out of the box on the top string, but that was easily corrected.

This is my first experience with a baritone, and I love it! Same same but different. If you can play a regular guitar, you can play this, but it does require an extra level of experimentation. It opens up a new palate of sounds and creativity. On the same day it arrived it made its way onto a song I’ve been working on, great for different solos, replicating some of those 60s inspired chilled blues/rock sounds (reminiscent of Richard Hawley and the like), but can be used like any other guitar if you’re willing to work your way up the fretboard. Build quality is brilliant as well. Might adjust the pick-up height slightly to see if I can get a slightly more consistent sound, but this isn’t essential. A hugely versatile instrument, would highly recommend!

Baritone fun at a budget The QC, fit and finish at this price point puts some more expensive brands to shame Also how sexy is that green?

Everything fine except the pickups - very microphonic, need to be changed, but I bought the guitar with upgrades in mind anyway and I wasn’t sure if baritone is my thing.

The string gauge seems to be too high and the pickup quality is not good. However, there is no problem because the strings and pickup can be solved by replacing them with other ones.

Defective neck pickup. Sticky nut (has to be treated for accommodating the thick gauge strings). Average overall quality.
