Sire V Series Basses

Pickups:

The V7 Version 2 basses now sport the new Marcus Super-J Revolution pickups. Redesigned with different magnets and coils to offer a more vibrant sound, these improved pickups also feature a printed logo on their covers to offer a more high-end aesthetic.

Fingerboards:

The V7 models with Alder bodies now boast Ebony fretboards as opposed to Rosewood. With the CITES restrictions that have recently affected the guitar industry, many companies have resorted to using cheaper alternatives. However, Sire has chosen Ebony, which is synonymous with quality. This offers even finer playability!

Neck:

Speaking of playability, the Version 2 necks are now finished in a satin lacquer instead of gloss. This provides a much faster feel, and along with the flatter 9 1/2” fingerboard radius and larger frets, modern players will feel truly at home playing these more contemporary V7 basses.

Pickup Guard:

Although the V7 Version 2 basses have been modernised, they still give traditionalists some essential old-school charm. The original 4-string V7s came with a ‘50s-style pickup cover, and now the 5-string V7s come with them as standard too!

Pickups:

If you’re a player that adores older J-style basses, the V7 Vintage models will give you a strong sense of nostalgia. Their new Marcus Vintage-J Revolution pickups deliver a solid and punchy tone, letting you attain the classic bass sounds of yesteryear!

Pickup Guard:

Much like their V7 Standard counterparts, the V7 Version 2 Vintage models also come with a pickup guard as standard. This means that if you want both a traditional sound and look, you can easily fit one of these for the whole vintage vibe.

Pickups:

The Sire V9 Version 2 models have been overhauled with the same refinements found on the V7 standards. This means that you get the upgraded Marcus Super-J Revolution pickup set, pumping out plenty of output with enough versatility for multiple styles.

Neck:

The new satin-finished neck enhances the overall feel of the V9 Version 2s, not letting your thumb stick to the lacquer. Combined with the flatter fingerboard radius, bigger frets and rolled edges, these basses will appeal strongly to bassists looking for an instrument for the 21st Century.

Pickup Guard:

Having said that, modern tones and playability doesn’t have to mean contemporary aesthetics too. That’s why Sire have thrown in a free pickup guard with their V9 Version 2 basses, to let you capture some old-school charm. This now includes the 5-string models too!

Pickups:

The Sire V3 represents excellent value-for-money, much like the entire Sire range. The Version 2 models have been updated with a brand new set of Marcus Standard-J Revolution single-coil pickups, while remaining affordable.

Produced using US-made heavy Fomvar magnet wire, these pickups offer a high-res sound with improved clarity and definition. These articulate-sounding pickups are ultra-versatile and suitable for many genres.

Sire P Series Basses

Pickups:

The updates made to the P7 Version 2 models echo the upgrades found on the V7s. Now fitted with the Marcus Super-PJ Revolution pickups, these powerful and potent pickups project balanced and well-rounded tones that can fit practically any musical style.

Fingerboards:

When it comes to the Sire P7 Version 2 bass models, Rosewood is no more. These improved offerings now feature Ebony fingerboards instead of Rosewood, giving you a sound with more upper mid-range cut and a feel that is smoother under the fingers.

Neck:

The Sire P7 Version 2 basses have a satin-finished neck, as opposed to the gloss lacquer that was previously used. This means that playability is better than ever before! Also featuring the 9 1/2” fingerboard radius and enlarged frets found on the V7 models, modern bassists will enjoy the extra control that they will immediately notice when they pick up one of these instruments.

Sire M Series Basses

Pickups:

The Sire M7 is a bass that was designed solely for the most modern of bassists. Despite its elegant and contemporary body design, the heart of the M7 was always its pickups. And with the M7 Version 2 basses, its dual dose of humbuckers have been refined, to the Marcus Pure-H Revolution set!

Able to deliver a thick and powerful sound without losing any clarity when in series, single or parallel modes, the versatility offered by the M7 Version 2 models is practically unparalleled at their competitive price-points.

Fingerboards:

Rosewood fingerboards have now been swapped out for Ebony. Not only giving a darker and stealthier look, this material offers a velvet feel under your fingertips, but also enhances the mid-range frequencies to give your playing more articulation.

Body:

Although the fast satin-finished neck remains intact from the first iteration of the M7, Sire however has decided to apply a gloss lacquer to the bodies of the Versions 2 M7 models. This brings the grain of their Flamed Maple tops out even more, making this arguably Sire's most stunning instrument range.

Fingerboards:

Although more affordable than their bigger brothers, the M7 basses, the M2 models still features powerful humbucker sets that offer huge tones.

The M2 Version 2 basses are fundamentally the same as the original models. However, they now feature rolled fingerboard edges to provide extra playing comfort, giving them the feel of high-end basses!

Sire Left-Handed & Fretless Basses

Sire caters for the more experimental of players too, which is why the majority of their bass models are available with fretless fingerboards! Take away the limitations of intonated notes, and slide smoothly in between tones for a more jazzy sound.

While the fretless bass options are cool, southpaws will rejoice at the great selection of left-handed Version 2 models available! With M2, V3, V7 and P7 basses available in left-handed orientation, all bassists have been accommodated for.
