Something different from anything else on the market

Incredibly expressive synth. It makes it feel like you're playing an acoustic instrument, only one with incredible sonic capabilities! So much fun to play, and a real instrument to get lost in.

It is clunky. Hard to update and tricky to play.

Out of the box, many of the functions do not work, forcing you to do a firmware update. All well and good but, if they are 'constantly improving', why is the last update from February? Even so, 'Coming Soon' is not a message I expected to see after updating. It's unfinished, but that's ok. On occasion, when the Osmose is booting, I get a message that 'switch 36 and 40 are faulty' and a reboot is required. Is this a serious issue? How is it correcting this during reboot? What you can control with it is great. However, a great many of the onboard sounds (despite being over 500 of them) are not all that special and the settings are not always best implemented for what it can do. . Whilst it is good to fiddle about controlling evolutions, whether some of these sounds ever make it to a piece of music remains to be seen. Once the Eagan Matrix is installed on your computer and you gain access to more sounds, you might wonder why some of these were not included originally. The Matrix is a frustratingly complex tool that makes FM seem simple! That all said, I have always spent (too much) time to get to know my synths and this will be no exception, although going back to the primary page, rather than the previous one is annoying.
