Product Description

Recording King are specialists in vintage instruments and the Swamp Dog is their quintessential resonator.

This small parlour size acoustic has a chimey, bright, twangy and all-round lovable character. It's an outstanding workhorse brass body resonator, adept at taking on capos, slide play and standard fingerpicking alike. Add to that it looks absolutely fantastic in a stressed vintage green finish and you've got a truly distinct guitar.

Here's what Recording King say about the Swamp Dog Resonator:

The Swamp Dog Parlor has it all: classic resonator tone in a bell brass body, rusty vintage mojo, and one of the best-sounding resonator cones available.

The Swamp Dog Parlor’s traditional resonator tone begins with a classic bell brass parlor-size body and RK’s own full-size hand-spun 9.5" cone. RK uses the same custom cone in its bigger sibling, the best-selling Swamp Dog.

Thanks to the smaller body size and 24-¼” scale length, the Swamp Dog Parlor has a different voice than other metal body instruments. It has all the swampiness and midrange of classic biscuit-style metal bodies, but the unique design adds more treble shimmer, for extra top-end clarity.

Recording King guitars never cut corners on great tone, and the Swamp Dog Parlor delivers classic sound and tons of mojo, whether you’re just discovering resonator, or you’re a professional player.

I thought it was a bit hard to play at first and changed the strings to 12's. I think I was bashing it too hard to begin with. I guess I should have known but being a bit more gentle with it gave the same volume and was all a bit more harmonic. I felt that after a week it loosened up (either it did or I did) and it really kicks out a mighty sound now. I might lower the action one day and contacted Recording King to find out how to do it. I got an email back within three minutes and when I asked for a clarification got another within about 5 minutes. Sounds easy enough to do but if I ever did it I would get a teck to do it for me. Overall small guitar with mighty sound. Huge amount of fun for the money.
