What's in the PRS SE Epic Deal?
Chris Robertson SE – The Black Stone Cherry frontman hit it out of the park when spec’ing up his signature SE. This model has the highly sought-after USA 57/08 bridge pickup and was the only SE model to ever have these pickups in them – newer models have SE 57/08s which are built in Korea. These pickups respond to the dynamics of your playing in a way that only a PAF style humbucker could. They sound warm and bold with a good clean tone but really shine when plugged into a bit of dirt. You can really get your amp to do the work and allow the pickup to give you that fat, screaming humbucker tone.
The Chris Robertson has also got a P90 single coil pickup in the neck for good measure. The P90 is hot and clear and sounds incredible for bluesy lead lines or mildly overdriven riffs.
Bernie Marsden SE – The Bernie Marsden SE has always been a fan-favourite. This guitar just oozes blues-rock with its slightly fatter neck that sits comfortably in the palm. The pickups are vintage hot sounding SE245 pickups. Also, the Bernie Marsden model has a slightly shorter scale length to most other PRS guitars. This makes string-bending that little bit easier when using heavy gauge strings.
Tremonti Exotic Woods – Tremonti was the only the second artist to have his own signature PRS model and throughout the years, his guitars have proven to be popular with players of all styles – especially rock and metal players.
The Tremonti SE is a singlecut model with a Trem and high-octane pickups that’ll get your riffs and solos roaring through the mix.
In 2017, PRS announced a limited run of guitars with Exotic woods for the guitar top. We have a handful of these amazing instruments that you can still get your hands on including a Swamp Ash, Spalted Maple and Zebrawood version.
SE Baritone – The SE Baritones are masters of the low-end. These guitars are tuned from B to b (instead of E to e like a normal guitar) to give all of your riffs and chords a thundering, low-end boom. There are 2 versions of these guitars available and both have their own characteristics for different styles of music. You can choose between the Semi-hollow Baritone with P90 pickups and a full solid body with massive sounding humbuckers if you want a slightly tighter sound.
These guitars are incredibly recording tools and will add a layer of depth and fatness to any song that you record.
