Product Description

Things start to spiral with the Context turned on – in a good way of course. Red Panda’s ode to ‘80s digital reverb is a cacophony of luscious sounds. From a bright, fast room style reverb to big, drenching cathedral and delayed ambience, this could be the company’s most versatile pedal.

The studio quality room and gated settings are perfect for bedding your instrument into a track or adding a splash of character. The more you turn the main dial, the higher the potential for deeper textures and trails. Turning the blend right up results in swampy goodness. Cut back on the damping and it becomes dark and moody.

About Red Panda

The boffins at Red Panda are all about pushing the boundaries of what can be done with natural, organic sounds. Forget your classic Klons and mundane reverbs, here it’s all trailblazing new effects using digital technology. This opens up the door for what can be achieved using the likes of guitars, keys and drum machines.

Red Panda are a small company focused on design process lasting 12-24 months. They use automated manufacturing to improve the reliability of their creations. All electronics are fully assembled in the USA, while the enclosures are CNC milled and powder coated in Canada.

Time to experiment.

Here's what Red Panda say about the Context:

Context combines 1980s digital reverb algorithms with a clean signal path. All of the algorithms are adjustable so that you can get the right combination of pre-delay, reverb time, and tone. Reverb time is adjustable from very tight to nearly endless. The cathedral algorithm adds slight modulation to the trails, for vast ambient washes of sound. The plate algorithm gives you control over low- and high-frequency response for crisp, defined reverb even with bass instruments. Gated reverb gives you big booming drums from the 1980's, but is also great for adding power to guitar while maintaining transparency and space between notes. Finally, there is delay plus reverb for that versatile combination in one pedal.

Modes

  • Room - fast buildup.
  • Hall - slow buildup with moderate diffusion.
  • Cathedral - bright reverb with extended response.
  • Gated - adjustable gate time with nonlinear decay.
  • Plate - bright and dense reverb with adjustable reverb time, low- and high-frequency response.
  • Delay - adjustable delay time, repeats, and reverb amount.
