Product Description

The Scott McKeon fuzz pedal is a modern classic. A favourite among vintage stompbox aficionados, this rare "cult" pedal captures that highly-coveted '60s and '70s fuzz sound with ease. Boasting hand-biased AC128 germanium transistors, the unit guarantees a rich tonal character and is very responsive to your playing dynamics.

Designed and hand-built in the UK, the Scott McKeon fuzz is a true "boutique" pedal made to the highest of standards. Featuring custom limited edition artwork, the unit also comes complete with a signed presentation box and 'SM Fuzz'-branded plectrums.

Made for Expressive Players

Fine adjustments on your guitar can make a big difference to the output tone of the Scott McKeon fuzz pedal. It can go from max saturation to an almost tube screamer-like overdrive with just a few subtle volume adjustments on your guitar — without having to even touch the settings on the stompbox itself.

First In The Chain For The Best Results

The Scott McKeon fuzz pedal sounds best when it "sees" your guitar first. In other words, the unit should be first in your effects chain. If it’s placed after a wah or another pedal that's not true bypass, it can affect the "blossoming" tone of the SM fuzz. Scott generally sets the unit with the volume ('V') on full and the fuzz ('F') at about three quarters of the way up. Of course, it’s up to you how to set the pedal — but that’s what the company recommends!

No Need to Unplug

The 'On/Off' knob feature, which comes as standard on the Scott McKeon fuzz, basically means that if you have the unit mounted on a pedalboard or simply powered by battery, rather than having to remove the input jack (to save on power) you simply can leave the pedal plugged in and just turn the volume control until it clicks off. This means that you can conveniently leave the Scott McKeon fuzz plugged in without draining its battery!

Powering the SM Fuzz

The SM Fuzz pedal is positive ground, which means that it must be used with an isolated power supply (if you don't want to operate it via battery). Sharing power with another pedal will blow out the power source, because the negative ground on normal pedals flows through the patch cable shield to the positive ground of the SM Fuzz — shorting out the power supply.

I think the SM Fuzz has been the missing link in my tone. Warm with plenty of low end, it suits perfectly with my single coils. Was here in a flash and it sounds incredible!

Great sounding fuzz pedal with a deserved excellent reputation. Big muscular fuzz tones that clean up at the tweak of your volume control.
