Product Description

The special run Chapman ML-2 Classic is a tribute to the 1950s gold tops, the very pinnacle of sophistication and the poster-boys of vintage guitars at their very best. This special run has the same basic spec as the standard ML-2 with the addition of a Gold Top finish, USA Seymour Duncan SH-1 Blues set of 59 PAF style humbuckers and in place of the coil tap you can pull the tone control to invert the phase of the neck pickup (commonly referred to as the Peter Green Mod).

Features

  • Seymour Duncan USA SH1 Blues Humbucker set
  • Push/Pull Tone knob inverts the neck pickup phase
  • Includes Hardcase

Why invert the phase of the neck pickup?

This feature was inspired by Peter Green's out of phase Les Paul sound which was the result of a happy accident: Green's Les Paul was incorrectly rewired after a service with the two pickups out of phase with each other. The pickups fighting each other instead of working together results in what we now know as Peter Green's iconic tone which you can now have on demand!

Not much!

Man, what a sound! Great at low volumes, excellent build quality, well set up and great to play. Good hard case.

Dave B.11th Mar 2016

Somewhere between a Les Paul and a PRS in feel I'd say. Finished to a high standard too, it really is a very nice guitar.

Love it.

Trusted Customer16th Jul 2015

Nice to play and provides a variety of different sounds. So easy to do outrageous string bends. Finish lets it down in a few spots: lacquer drips, over sprays, untidy string ferrule finishing and masking tape mistakes... but nothing major

Very pleased with guitar

I've barely put the guitar down since I got it. Great sound and a great build quality!

The best guitar I own, it's quite a bit better than my Gibson, Jackson or Ibanez. After a quick set up of truss-rod, and action to fit my style of playing and all is sounding great. The seymour duncan are just amazing and polyvalent and the finish of the guitar is just wonderful, a great guitar over my expectations.

Trusted Customer9th Jan 2015

This is the best guitar I have ever played and I have played some very expensive guitars in my life. This guitar feels so great in my hands I can literally play it for hours without fatigue. The sound is amazing!. Even without an amp on this guitar really sings and has a voice that just begs for whole step bends. The Chapman ML-2 Classic is stunning to look at. Pictures do it no justice. It's beauty is something that you have to see to believe. The Seymour Duncan SH-1 blues set pickups sound unbelievable clean and distorted.
