Product Description

Old Blood Noise make a variety of obscure effects pedals that can be used for everything from your standard pop/rock licks to full on experimental and ambient mixes. The Excess is a unique beast, combining essentially 3 effects in a single stompbox - distortion, chorus and delay.

Capable of generating a bunch of crazy, filtered, synth-esque tones, the Excess is truly in a class of its own. Sure to inspire you to new sonic plateaus, the Excess Distortion Chorus/Delay can expand your tonal palette and get your creative juices flowing.

The distortion side can give you insane levels of gain, capturing that thick and gnarly distortion/fuzz tone heard across classic grunge and alternative rock tracks from the mid-90s. This can be engaged via its own dedicated footswitch, whilst the modulation and delay side also has a seperate footswitch. Able to toggle between those two effects, there are several controls that can let you craft your optimal sound.

Able to run the two sides in series or parallel, you can really tailor your tones even more thoroughly. In parallel you will achieve a huge engulfing wave of  modulated filth, perfect for creating distorted soundscapes (think My Bloody Valentine). Series will give you a slightly more articulate and controlled tone, with less low-end.

Here's what Old Blood Noise say about the Excess Distortion Chorus/Delay:

The Old Blood Noise Endeavors Excess is everything you need for your next ripping session in 1985 and beyond.  The goods : high gain distortion, lush chorus and slapback delay in a selectable series or parallel signal path.

The Excess has separate volume controls for both the Distortion and the Modulation effects.  The modulation mode is changed via the secondary stompswitch which changes between chorus and delay.

The signal path can be changed by the SERIES / PARALLEL toggle switch.  In Series mode, the Distortion effect flows into the Modulation effect, stacking their sound and volumes.  In Parallel mode, the two effects are summed to a single output, resulting in a clear modulation with a distorted layer underneath, cleanly separated.

You can't get enough. I can see it in your eyes. You need more. Maybe the Excess will do you just fine. Mayhaps.
