Product Description

Alvarez’s acoustic range is notoriously diverse, and features a raft of stunning guitars that emit the most glorious of tones. The Artist CC7 is one such model, with its design inspired by the traditional classical instruments crafted in Cádiz – the birthplace of the classical guitar.

Construction

The body of the Alvarez CC7 is constructed from gorgeous Dark Walnut, yielding a bright top-end and present mids. Paired with a Mahogany neck, this offers a warm and rich character that enhances the low-end, to give a balanced sound overall. Strengthened by a strip of Ebony that runs down its length, this will ensure that the neck won’t warp in varying climates.

The Alvarez CC7’s body is adorned with a Solid A+ Sitka Spruce top, adding some further top-end crispness. This means that you can play fingerpicked patterns with all of the clarity and articulation you’d expect from a high-quality classical guitar.

The Classical Design

Classical guitars are defined by their use of nylon strings and often smaller bodies than their steel-string counterparts. While being a popular contemporary instrument, it’s known for its use in the Classical field, as the name suggests; its soothing but dynamic sound is instantly recognisable.

Combining modern manufacturing techniques with unique tonewood treatments, Alvarez Classical instruments are truly world-class. Committed to uncompromising quality and simultaneous affordability, Alvarez travelled to Cádiz in Andalusia – the spiritual home of the Classical guitar – to learn the instruments inside and out. The result is a range of nylon-string acoustics that are among the best on the market.

About Alvarez

Established in 1965 by major US instrument distributor St. Louis Music, Alvarez teamed up with master luthier Kazuo Yairi with the aim of producing the finest guitars in the world.

The success of Alvarez-Yairi guitars helped put the brand on the market, and are still handmade in Kani, Japan to this day. In the decades that followed, Alvarez significantly expanded their operation, and now produce one of the most extensive and diverse ranges of acoustic instruments in the world.

Ranging from affordable entry-level to world-class handmade instruments, Alvarez have got everything covered. Their instruments have been used by the likes of Johnny Cash, Paul McCartney, Carlos Santana, Ani DiFranco and many more – they’re obviously doing something right!

The CC7 is a great student guitar. It is carefully made (in Japan) and sounds and plays well. The saddle is bone but the bridge, which is double-holed with 12 holes, is without bone supports (hence not five stars). When you restring your guitar you need to know how the double holes work (YouTube is a great resource!). Although this guitar is designed to work well with high tension strings I think is sounds nicer with natural tension (D'Addario EJ45) ones.
