Product Description

John Mayer fans rejoice! An affordable version of the modern blues-pop master's best-selling signature guitar is finally here — say hello to the PRS SE Silver Sky!

Strongly resembling Mayer's USA Core model with its elegant double-cutaway body, inverted PRS headstock and trio of single-coil pickups — the PRS SE Silver Sky is a versatile workhorse designed to provide similarly exquisite tones and familiar playability, but at a far more accessible price-point.

Key Features

  • Poplar Body — Often likened to Alder, Poplar is comparably balanced in sound with a slightly lighter feel.
  • Bolt-On Construction — Produces a snappy note response for an immediate playing experience.
  • 25.5" Scale Length — Provides optimal string tension; letting you dig in for funky "New Light"-style chords while allowing for soulful, expressive string bends.
  • Maple Neck with Original '635JM' Carve — Based on the same custom neck shape used for Mayer's USA Silver Sky. According to Lee Anderton, PRS "nailed" it! Features a satin-style finish for a natural playing feel.
  • Rosewood Fingerboard — A luxurious, silky material that enhances mid-range warmth. Comes fitted with 22 frets and boasts PRS' trademark 'Small Bird' inlays.
  • 8.5" Fingerboard Radius — Offers a slightly flatter and more contemporary feel than the vintage-inspired 7.25" radius on the Core Silver Sky.
  • 635JM "S" Pickups — Designed to capture the sound of the single-coils in the USA Silver Sky, these pickups "bark and sing" according to PRS!
  • 5-Way Pickup Switching — Provides a wide sonic palette; letting you isolate each pickup or combine the middle single-coil with the bridge/neck pickups for those classic "in-between" tones.
  • 2-Point Steel Tremolo — A reliable bridge that enables smooth vibrato whenever inspiration strikes.
  • Vintage-Style Tuners — Possess a classy, traditional look and allow for precise string pitching.
  • Included PRS SE Gig Bag — High-quality design ensures solid protection for the instrument.

Phantastic instrument - not only for the price. By far the best electric guitar in the price range of around 1000 Euros. Pickups are excellent, neck and frets in very good shape, all in all: great instrument.

Wow! Not sure what to say apart from confirming that this guitar is really enjoyable to play - great sound as expected and motivates you to want to pick it up to play. Not too happy however about the fact that the control knobs do not turn true. They all oscillate when you turn them..? A sales assistant said that they all do it..??? You don't feel it at all when you turn the knobs, but it really shouldn't happen..! Without that, I would have given a 5 star rating.

My first PRS and what a superb guitar this is. Managed to get the discounted price when on offer as well, so I'm super happy with this. The Silver Sky SE is so good, I've hardly played my Fender Pro 2 Strat since !

I have a couple of PRS guitars, old and new. This SE silver sky is great. Comfortable in my hands, easy to play, great spec for price, and everything I’ve come to expect from a PRS.

Could it really be as good as everyone says it is? Oh yes! Flawless finish and beautifully set up... Nut slots, perfect. Action feels lower than it actually was... no adjustment required. I like that the trem is non-floating. The neck is the standout feature for me. Wrapping my stubby thumb over the top is so much easier than my PRS CE. Within seconds it felt second nature to play. The range of tone from 3 identical pickups is astounding. Love it.

First impressions were slightly tarnished by a dud string, but once I'd put a new set on and floated the bridge it became a different instrument. Immediately noticed a massive improvement in the acoustics too. I love the neck, the looks, the finish and the playability, but its the dynamics that really set it apart from my other "more affordable" guitars. But then it did cost nearly twice as much as my beloved Squier Vintage Modified '70s Strat :) I was a little annoyed with one of the tone knobs not being level, but the quality of the plastic on the whammy bar is simply shocking. Very small surface scratches and a pronounced centre joint make it feel extremely cheap. Literally the worst I've ever felt, including Squier Bullet Strats at a quarter of the price.
