The Morgan NKT275 is a recreation of the classic Fuzz Face pedal we all love but with all original components. NKT275 Germanium transistors are pretty much impossible to come by these days and Morgan have only managed to get their hands on about 1000 of them so these pedals will be in seriously short supply.
The Classic 60's Tone
If you have heard the tones of George Harrison, Jimi Hendrix, Pete Townshend, Eric Johnson or David Gilmour you have most likely heard plenty of fuzz face tones. The pedals they used however haven't been in production for many years due to a lack of some components. Joe has gone all out to find everything needed to replicate this legend in a form you can love.
Regular Power Input
A common issue with replica fuzzs like this is that they require odd power supplies. The NKT275 just uses your standard 9V power supply however so you can really easily set this up with your pedalboard, no adaptors or separate power supplies needed.
Here's what Morgan say about the NKT275 Fuzz
In 2015 Joe Morgan found a limited batch of forgotten NKT275 transistors. The NKT275 transistor is the classic Fuzz Face transistor and has become basically in-obtanium to larger scale production. Joe felt with such a find of classic tone creators, that it was his DUTY to recreate a classic fuzz face circuit with the original components. Joe hand sorts through EVERY one of these transistors and individually checks for leakage and gain. Only these hand selected pairs are used on the NKT275 fuzz these pedals. We only have a finite amount of transistors for these pedals and when they are gone they are gone. Remember each of these transistors is like a snowflake and there will be some tonality difference from pedal to pedal - but they will all be in the same ballpark of greatness, just slightly different shades.
