The Moog Werkstatt-01 Analog Synth Kit and CV Expander is a patch-based analog synth that you build yourself. You don't even need any previous experience with building synthesizers either, thanks to an intuitive complete kit that's simple to construct. It's the ideal hands-on entry point to analog synths, allowing you to harness Moog's legendary sound and engineering - with an additional sense of DIY accomplishment!
Supreme Sound Design
Moog have developed a signature sound that's instantly recognisable, and the Werkstatt-01 boasts the very same sonic pedigree. A 100% analog circuit offers intriguing futuristic tones, allowing for impressive sound design that shifts and evolves.
The circuit is bolstered by the world-renowned Moog Ladder Filter - which is a useful tool for moulding harmonics - and a full-range analog oscillator. This features a number of different waveforms that you can swap between. Both offer further fun creative options.
You'll then be able to add further complexity to your sound via the analog LFO circuit. It helps to add modulation and movement to any of your creations - whether that's calmer waves, or sharp, precise tonal bursts. Having contrasting options like this is key. Finally, the integrated 2-stage analog envelope generator (with sustain) offers you complete control over dynamic shaping.
The CV Expander
You can augment your sounds even more using the included CV expander. Simply patch outputs and inputs together using the 12 jacks and the in-built patch bay - opening up entirely new avenues of Moog-influenced tonal experimentation. This CV expander can also be used to hook the Werkstatt-01 up to Eurorack gear and any extra Moog semi-modular synths you might get further down the road!
