Product Description

The Le Clean from Two Notes is a preamp multitool that can easily replace a lot of your smaller recording and performance gear. Part of a range of 4 pedals this model specialises in clean sounds and is an ideal blank slate for building great tone.

So.... what does it do?

Well, this is first and foremost a preamp. You can plug in your guitar, Midi controller and effects pedals and output straight to a mixing desk. This is perfect for controlling your sound on stage, recording or (with headphones) a little noodling at home in silence.

You can also output to a C.A.B Cab simulator for that full big-rig sound or out to your regular head and cab unit.

Adding effects

This may be a pedal with a lot of options but you dont need to sweep away all your old favourites. You can chain them between the guitar and this pedal or attach them in an effects loop.

Hot and Cold Fusion

With an A and B channel, each with unique voicing and controls, you have a lot of sounds to choose from. You can select between cold and hot fusion modes which affects how the sound is blended.

Hot: In “Hot Fusion”, A and B are cascaded, meaning A can be used as a boost for B with both A and B EQ’s available to shape the result.

Cold: In “Cold Fusion”, the two channels are in parallel, meaning you can blend the cleaner sound from A and your more distorted sound in B to gain clarity and articulation.

A bit about Two Notes

From the moment we launched the Torpedo C.A.B., we believed it was possible to build a high quality pedalboard to entirely replace a conventional tube amplifier system: the complete floor rig. Even with an almost limitless choice of available guitar effects, we always felt that finding a very good preamplifier in a pedal format was challenging. This is why Two notes is proud to premier its line of tube preamplifiers: Le Clean, Le Crunch, Le Lead and Le Bass.

Here's what Two Notes have to say about this pedal

Le Clean takes its inspiration from the classic amps of southern California in all shades of brown, black and silver. Channel A has a pure ultra clean texture. Channel B lets you bring in classic sweet overdrive of a dark desert highway. The Cold Fusion mode gets right to the heart of Texas while Hot Fusion takes you out of the blue and into the gnarliest Tweed tones.

The selection of a preamplifier is the core of your overall tone and thus requires the greatest at- tention. When building a complete floor rig, only the very best will make the cut. The Two notes preamplifiers are a True High Voltage Design running internally at 200 volts to preserve the interaction between you and your guitar while working perfectly with your other effect pedals. Each of the four different versions deliver the unique tube warmth, dynamics, and the musical compression from the amps we know and love, now in a more convenient pedal package. And, of course, you can use them as an elaborate tube overdrive, in front of your favorite amplifier!

If you are looking for a Fender twin or Fender 60's amp sound's that is as near as you can get then look no further . It's pure fender all the way with ton's of headroom on channel A . This is the real deal and i have had the helix lt and a few more , (nothing at all wrong with.the helix at all ) ,Also own a few Real Fender Tube amps , but just to many options for my needs with the Helix and the clean fender sound just dosn't come close to the le Clean . Channel B and the mix option gives a little 60's deluxe,Princeton etc feel , very fendrish , But my only gripe and it's important you know , Two notes say it does all fender styles including blondes etc , It's a big no no . It does not break up like a old deluxe or bassman's and junior''s etc . When you push it to break up it's awful ( just my opinion ) . I did not buy it for that though . It does the Fender 60's cleans better than i have ever heard ,with loads of headroom just like the twin amp . I use it for recording direct and found the inbuilt cab sim spot on ,you could add the Cab M and it would no doubt make it even better , But for me i'm more than happy with the supplied cab sim. I cannot praise it enough ,But remember it does not break up like it shows you in some reviews ,you would need a overdrive pedal like i use to get in the blonde amp styles , takes pedal's really really well , Would buy again if it got damaged . Hope this helps .

I use this to warm up a clean tone in front of solid-state amps (i.e. not bypassing the pre-amp in my amp, but just going straight into amp as normal). If used on its own, or with just a couple of pedals in front it sounds absolutely amazing. The flat sounds I get from my Peterson amp and my Henriksen Blu become rich and full. This is going to transform my sound. With a full pedal board in front of it it gets noisy, even if you do go straight into the power amp. Trying to hit the two foot switches simultaneously to get the nice combined channel drive is a little awkward. The sound itself is great though.
