Product Description

The Naked series is what happens when everything is stripped away and you are just left with the simple tonewood finish. It's simple design allows the wood to breathe and resonate naturally due to the lack of a gloss finish.

Don't be fooled by it's simplicity though. The tones that this guitar delivers and rich and complex and the body shape allows the guitar to project in both a live and studio environment.

The Fishman Isys 1 Pickup

You get plenty of bang for your buck and the Fishman pickup on-board will mean you can get on stage and get gigging from the first day you play it. It's also got a tuner on-board so that you don't have any excuse to play a dud note.

Hardware And Construction

The hardware is solid and robust and has all been designed to work with the construction of the guitar to give you tones that are lush and reliably consistent. All in all, a solid instrument for players wanting to upgrade their first guitar or even pro players that are after a simple and stylish instrument.

Here's What Faith Say About the Naked Series Venus

Voted The UK's Best Acoustic Guitar 2013

The Venus is the now iconic shape that brought Faith Guitars to the consciousness of so many players over the years. The combination of a 15" lower bout and a slimmer depth of body looks to classic OM or Auditorium body-shapes for inspiration, and makes the Venus the perfect compromise.

It is still big enough to deliver a big acoustic performance, yet remains small enough for the player to jump around on stage with no problem.

The Englemann Spruce top and Mahogany body of each of the Faith Naked instruments is 100% solid tonewood – in keeping with all other Faith series. However, the cosmetics and non-essential dressing has been stripped away, leaving the guitars in their natural, Naked state. Satin finished all over, the tonewood is almost entirely unrestricted in its resonant movement, so the tone delivered is far beyond what is normally expected at this price level.

This model is fitted with Fishman Isys 1 electronics.

I chose this guitar over Martins and Taylors in the same price range. Being honest, I probably would've been a bit snobby towards brands like this in the past, but was amazed but the build quality [made in Indonesia] and playability of this guitar, and it has a solid top, back and sides. I've used it for a few gigs already and it's been absolutely brilliant. The pickup sounds great too! My main acoustic is a 00's USA built Martin DCX1RE, and this guitar absolutely holds its own against it, and is probably a bit nicer to play. Give it a try and pleasantly surprised :-)

I've had this a few weeks now and love it. How they can price this at this price point and make any money at all, I have no idea - it's made beautifully, made from solid tonewoods and I literally can't fault a single thing on it. For an instrument under £500, that's remarkable. I came in looking for something that wasn't going to kill me price wise and that I would connect with enough to play out and about and not worry about dinging - tried it against a Sire and this really sounded more alive to my ears than the Sire did. I think that might be to do with the finish, with is satin and might allow a more open, treble heavy tone, which I find pleasant, but I did feel the finish on the Sire was also lacking quality in some places.

I adore my first acoustic. Feel is delightful, such a deep and full sound, and I don’t have to plug in if I don’t want to. There is a slight buzz and I can’t work out what it is. I am sure if I were more experienced or I could see a tech it would get sorted straight away. Instead I will contact the customer service as it was so good.

I realised after buying a cheaper acoustic online without trying it first was a mistake in terms of playability, I had to buy tools and all sorts to level out and finish the frets and the action. I didn't want to have to do this again and made sure I would play my next acoustic before purchasing which is why a made a point of going to the shop in person, especially as my cheap old guitar is now set up perfectly to my taste. On a positive though, that experience helped me determine exactly what I wanted and what to look for in terms of a good setup on acoustic guitar. I came in actually wanting to buy a dreadnought because I like the full sound and bass but after playing a few guitars in my budget I couldn't really find a guitar that I felt really comfortable playing and that would wow me in terms of sound. However when I played the Faith Venus I was really impressed with the factory setup, action was low and no buzzing and although doesn't have the bass of a dreadnought being a smaller body it just plays and sounds sweet. Once I played this guitar I just had to stretch my budget as the guitar sounded and played so good. It is very pretty also which is a bonus. The satin finish feels fantastic (nice change from cheap glossy guitar) and I really like the simplicity of it but real quality for price on this instrument. Although standard tuning machines on naked Venus, they are really smooth and and keep in tune nicely. Plugged in sound was really nice, so Fishman preamp sounds great. No gig bag so you will need to add that to budget. Can't comment on durability but it from what I have read, the finish will show marks more than more complete finishes.
