Product Description

Martin's dreadnoughts are well known for their charm and sound. Now this electro-acoustic model means even more people can hear how great a tone it has through an amp.

Woods

Using sustainable woods, Martin have crafted a sturdy yet elegant, stripped back guitar. The Sapele back and sides are naturally brighter than Mahogany in both look and tone. The Stratabond neck has a pleasing red hue in colour and the fretboard isn't too dissimilar in its clever use of materials either. The Richlite fretboard is very fast to play and found on many extremely high-end custom guitars.

Sound

The characterised sparkly highs, solid lows and dipped mids are a staple trend for whatever Martin dreadnought you have. The DRS-2 is great for light strums or finger picking thanks to an extremely low action straight out the box. Its modern tonality wouldn't go amiss in any genre of music. You can't go wrong a simple two-knob preamp either, discreetly hidden so the guitar keeps its good looks.

Here's what Martin say about the DRS-2:

Built on traditional styling and legendary Martin tone, the DRS2 acoustic-electric model is the most affordable solid wood model. Constructed with Sapele back and sides. This model includes SUSTAINABLE WOOD CERTIFIED parts.
