Product Description

Brazilian guitar virtuoso Lari Basilio is part of an exciting new wave in instrumental rock music - carving a unique sound that seamlessly combines sublime technical proficiency with catchy, energetic melodic phrases. Japanese guitar giant Ibanez has graced Basilio with a stunning debut signature instrument based on their newly-designed AZS series model — the LB1.

Essentially an elegant T-shaped version of their popular AZ guitar, Ibanez's LB1 has a stellar feature-set with many custom Lari-requested tweaks. Equipped with a set of Basilio's signature Seymour Duncan pickups, the LB1 sports further modern-day appointments that include a rock-solid Roasted Maple neck, stainless steel frets, Luminlay side dots, Gotoh locking tuners and a genuine bone nut.

Traditional Ash Body

Ash is a highly-desirable tonewood that's synonymous with "golden age" vintage electric guitars made in the '50s and '60s. That's why Ibanez has used this material to construct the body of its LB1 model; underpinning the instrument with rich lows, a smooth mid-range and sickly-sweet highs — playing the perfect host for the flexible H/S/S pickup configuration.

Ergonomic Design

A large belly-cut and a deeply-carved forearm contour makes the LB1's body sit naturally against you; increasing playing comfort for practically any scenario. The elegant AZS shape also boasts Ibanez's 'Super All Access' neck joint that provides unhindered playability all the way up to the 22nd fret!

Roasted Maple Neck

Many contemporary high-end instruments are fitted with Roasted Maple necks, and the LB1 is no exception. Via Ibanez's 'S-TECH' special roasting treatment, this process removes all of the natural moisture retained by the neck wood which ultimately darkens the material and makes it far less vulnerable to warping when exposed to varying climates — ensuring incredible stability.

The neck has also been shaped to the unique 'Oval C' profile exclusive to the Ibanez AZ/AZS series', which is sealed with an oil finish that helps it feel similar to a well-played, aged guitar neck.

Compound Radius Fingerboard

A compound radius fingerboard, unique to Lari's signature model in the AZS range, strikes the perfect balance between a traditional and modern feel — built to enhance chording at the lower frets, while flattening out in the upper register for hassle-free lead work.

Stainless Steel Frets

Fitted with hard-wearing and corrosion-resistant stainless steel frets, their wide/tall jumbo design provides maximum control under the fingers for effortless vibrato and pitch-perfect string bends — enhanced with the smooth Prestige fret edge treatment for additional finesse.

Seymour Duncan Pickups

Ibanez has equipped its spellbinding LB1 model with a set of Lari's custom-wound Seymour Duncan signature pickups. With a medium output, this ultra-flexible H/S/S set allows you to attain a variety of versatile tones and provides a super-wide tonal palette — from angelic cleans to full-on rock!

dyna-MIX9 Switching System

To get the most out of the beautifully-voiced pickups, the ingenious dyna-MIX9 switching system offers nine sonic variations and allows you to easily switch between full humbucking and single-coil modes with just a flick of the mini switch. One mode even simulates a humbucker sound from the combination of two single-coil pickups, making the Ibanez LB1 a tonal chameleon suitable for practically any style!

Gotoh T1702B Tremolo

Ibanez has kitted out its Japanese-crafted guitars with only the finest hardware appointments, to guarantee decades of reliable use. The ultra-smooth Gotoh T1702B tremolo lets you tastefully alter chords or lead lines with warbly, pitch-bending wackiness whenever inspiration strikes, with brass saddles enhancing sustain and note resonance.

Locking Tuners

The Gotoh Magnum Lock machine heads guarantee incredible tuning stabillity and work in perfect unison with the tremolo, while significantly cutting down string-changing time so that you can spend more time playing! Its H.A.P. (height adjustable post) system allows for individual adjustment of the string posts, to set the appropriate tension for each string.
