Keeping it in the pocket
The Sonor AQ2 Series Shell Pack builds on the foundation set by the AQ1 and offers prospective players the chance to craft their own, unique setup with a high-quality maple shell whilst choosing from a range of distinctive sizes & finishes. The 7-ply (7.2mm ply) Canadian & Asian Maple Shell construction is allowed to sing by the new & unobtrusive ‘SmartMount’ that Sonor designed for the AQ series. This is complemented by the 45° bearing edge which minimizes contact between the head & drum, bringing a modern & versatile sound to the shells.
Ideal for small venues, light duties, Latin music or the well-travelled player, the AQ2 Martini shell pack makes an excellent choice. For extra bite, Sonor paired these shell packs with a sweet 12 x 5” Steel Snare Drum which projects nicely compared to the short stack toms & pocket-sized bass drum. The extra funky cymbal & tom combo mount harks back to Sonors long history of quality design & engineering.
The stunning Titanium Quartz Lacquered finish tops off this minimalistic shell pack very nicely.

With the AQ2 Series, you can choose out of a broad range of pure maple drums offering the ultimate combination of great sound, setup flexibility, a wide choice of finishes and portability.
We offer five standard configurations to start with, all featuring our new 7-ply all maple shell construction (4 plies of Canadian maple, 3 plies of Asian maple). The drums share fittings and finishes, offering the flexibility to mix and match within the whole AQ2 Series. Now you can extend the standard configurations with add-on drums to build your desired setup.
The AQ2 Series drums come with newly designed shell hardware and a new tom mounting system: the SmartMount. This minimalistic yet functional mount has the true German design and engineering spirit inside: optimal sound sustain with a minimal amount of hardware on the drum shell.
