Product Description

Lowden guitars are widely regarded as some of the finest acoustic guitars in the world. Revered for their exquisite craftmanship, premium tonewoods and impeccable attention to detail, Lowden have become a major force in the acoustic world. Founded in the 1970s by luthier George Lowden, each guitar is lovingly hand built in Northern Ireland using traditional techniques to keep the quality at the highest standards. Quite simply, Lowden represents the pinnacle of acoustic craftsmanship and each guitar is a true work of art!

The Lowden F-50 is without doubt, one of the finest acoustic guitars in Lowden's impressive catalogue. Featuring a stunning Master Grade Cocobolo back and sides and Alpine Spruce top, the F-50 is an acoustic player's dream! The F-50's exotic tonewood construction produces subtle tonal colours and a wide dynamic range. The Cocobolo back and sides has a complex tonal quality that is almost three dimensional, whilst boasting one of the most eye-catching grain patterns in the natural world! The Alpine Spruce top has a pleasant brightness and "zing" to it that beautifully complements the Cocobolo's more mid focussed tone. The F-50 boasts a carved soundbox bevel for maximum comfort and playability as well as a stunning figured wood and abalone rosette.

Lowden 50 Series

The 50 Series can be described as the Lowden Custom Shop. Bringing together premium master-grade tonewoods, exquisite craftsmanship and exceptional attention to detail, the 50 Series sits proudly at the top of Lowden's range.

“When we receive our tone-woods into our workshops we re-grade them several times and only the rarest and exceptional pieces we reserve for our 50 series. Every 50 series guitar benefits visually and in tone from this very special wood. These are simply the very best we can make!” - George Lowden

"F" Body Shape

Lowden's "F" shape is a medium sized body that sits in between the larger "O" and the smaller "S" shapes. It is a great all round body shape with a focussed projection making it ideal for both fingerpickers and strummers alike.
