    Product Description

This is a special edition version of the 2600, featuring a mechanical spring reverb, unicolour LED's, and finished in the same iconic Blue Marvin style of one of the first 2600 renditions from 1971.

    Authentic Engineering

The 2600 features a pure analog signal path modelled on the original '70s Arp 2600 circuitry, as well as a triple VCO architecture and semi-modular design. These engineering decisions deliver classic sounding tones from the era, from airy ambiences, to dynamic leads and thick, powerful bass.

    Sound Creation

Your sounds are generated via the 3 VCOs (boasting FM inputs). Their default waveforms can be patched to triangle, saw, square, pulse, or sine - ensuring even more sonic options are available to you.

That's not all though. Further creativity is made possible in the form of a filter mode switch, resonance control, sample and hold, a lag processor, ring modulator, envelope follower, Schmitt trigger, noise generator and more.

You'll be able to add even more variety to your tracks via the built-in AR envelope generators and ADSR. Tweaking the level of release, sustain, decay and attack will provide dynamism to any sound.

This is a quirky synth based on an early 1970s design. You really need to know its quirks and limitations to use it properly, especially if you plan to play it via CV & Gate. For example, it needs a Gate signal of more than 6 volts to trigger the envelopes properly. It is capable of some awesome sounds and is ultra flexible in its patch routing.. The spring reverb although nice to have, can often make the sound a bit muddy. A spring reverb more like the original ARP 2600 would have been better. I'd have rated the value for money higher if Anderton's had charged such an over-inflated price compared to other retailers.

Say what you like about the 'B' companies practices, but there's no way I would ever afford the original or other remakes... This is a great step forwards if you have been getting into (semi-) modular via something like a Crave/Mother32/Werkstatt01 etc.

Always wanted the ARP 2600 but could never justify the cost. This Behringer copy of the classic ARP synth (ably assisted by Rob Keeble at AMSyths) is incredibly good. They’ve really nailed it sonically and from a UI perspective. It even has extra waveforms and PWM on Oscilator 3 as well as Osc 2. Brilliant
