Sound better

Take a sound, any sound. Send it through the Analog Heat MKII, try out the eight different stereo analog distortion circuits, add stereo analog filtering and EQ, and hear beautiful things unfold. New life for your existing gear.

All analog, all yours

The eight stereo analog circuits are designed to quickly access varied and powerful sound shaping. Each circuit has a distinctive way of processing sound. Clean boost, tape-like saturation, tube amp-like enhancement, overdrive, crunch, distortion, harmonic fuzz or high gain? You’ll find your favorite flavor with ease.

Sound card operation

One of the most prominent Analog Heat MKII features: it can function as a 2 in/2 out sound card, even while processing DAW audio. Perfect for the traveling musician. Create as you go and make stellar, high quality recordings wherever you may roam.

Producer, D&B. This for me would be a 5 star purchase. The lower circuits are almost useable on everything from stem to mix. The others I haven’t had a massive play with but I see use in all of them. The saturation would have been enough but the filter, eq, lfo and env are what solidify the price. A minor criticism but not one that would put me off is for if the knobs don’t feel as well fitted as others. Where it loses the star is the software. Absolutely the worst plug-in I’ve ever used. 50% of the time I have to turn the unit off or delete the plug to have it connect properly and pass audio through. I’m going to buy a larger I/O interface to bypass this issue but be aware if you intend on running this via Overbridge you may have this experience and for me it would have been enough to return. PC, W11 but from what I gather I’m not alone outside that config.

It's been almost 9 months since I bought the Heat MkII and so I can say with some confidence that it's a fantastic piece of gear, at least for the music I make. The sound is deep and of the highest quality (I've got a hardware SansAmp PSA-1 and other analogue filters to compare it to), it's really easy and inspiring to use, Overbridge is brilliant for inserting the Heat into DAW processing and it can act as a stereo in/out audio interface (very handy when my Apogee Quartet started acting up) and over Overbridge / via the analogue inputs at the same time. And it's built like a tank which is good because I suspect I'll be using this thing for a very long time!

What can I say? It's another fine product from Elektron. Not spent enough time with it to give a detailed review but if the presets are to go by, I'm going to get a lot of use from it.

Great piece of gear, perfect for adding grit to your sounds. The overbridge VST link is a bit iffy though

Over the moon with the analog heat! Really adds some beef and character to any input. I use it in conjunction with my Digitakt and Digitone but also as an audio effect for ableton soft synths.

Fantastic sound, great design if you like the "new" Elektron layout. I use it as a master effect: - for beefing up samples in a DAW using overbridge - for playing with hardware Generally, Overbridge works like magic. I have found that large buffer sizes can introduce occasional clicks (> 512ms). It obviously introduces a round-trip latency which means that you can only really use it for resampling or as a master effect. Still totally worth it, especially because the settings of the Analog Heat are saved with your DAW project. As a master effect for hardware, I basically always use the same preset that does: Clean Boost with some drive, a touch of Env ducking the Drive to do a sort of compression and some parametric EQing. The result almost always sounds better. Also, it helps maintain a similar level of gain (and somewhat similar EQ/mix) between patterns since I try to push the level of each pattern right before the point of saturation.

Great product, well built and sounds amazing on my new synth, can’t wait to pair it with my new digitakt if your after some analogue processing this thing is a beast but it can be subtle too.

Incredibly versatile stereo analog processor does alot more than appears on the surface - USB overbridge adds alot of convenience if your using a daw - analog in/outs just as easy to use as expected Try to ignore reviews that compare this to other hardware or software as it should be treated as its own thing , most hardware comparison videos featuring this are made by people who dont really know how to use the unit so dont be put off - Capable of anything between subtle colouring/saturation to full on destruction
