Product Description

IK Multimedia's AXE I/O audio interface for guitarists now comes in a more compact version, the AXE I/O Solo! With it's single 1/4" input and mic/line input, the Axe I/O Solo is perfect for the guitarist just their guitar or bass at home or live on stage. Also included in Amplitube 4 Deluxe, IK Multimedia's powerful amp modelling software with over 140 models of guitar and bass amps, cabs, pedals, mics, and more.

Sound and Connectivity

The AXE I/O Solo is a great tool for guitarists and bassists looking to only record themselves. It has a single 1/4" input on the front that you can plug your instrument in directly but also an Amp Out for re-amping and a mic/line input on the back for mic'ing an amp. Record your dry signal direct into your DAW, capture the tone of your entire rig, or do both at the same time - great for recording at home or capturing a live set.

With its 24-bit, 192 kHZ sound quality, wide frequency response, and Class A mic preamps, the AXE I/O Solo provides clean and clear sound to ensure your recordings capture all the dynamics and details in your playing. Other connecitivity options include MIDI IN/OUT, external outputs for footswitches/expression pedals, left and right line outs for reference monitors, and a headphone output.

Z-Tone Circuit

While the AXE I/O Solo is designed to preserve your natural sound of your guitar or bass, it also has several tone-shaping tools (two switches and a Z-Tone control knob) to help you get the most out of your sound. The left switch features "Active" and "Passive" options to use depending on which type of pickups are in your guitar. The Passive option is designed to accommodate all passive pickups from low-output single-coils, to high-output modern humbuckers. The Active option is for active pickups, bypassing unnecessary gain stages for a more direct and transparent signal path. The right switch changes the tonal characteristics of the preamp - "Pure" is a transparent and accurate preamp that won't colour the tone, and "JFET" is a Class A JFET input buffer that provides a warmer tone with more midrange focus and subtle harmonic enhancement.

The Z-Tone control knob is a variable impedance control - by increasing the impedance you get a sharper, tighter tone, but when you increase the load you get a thicker, bolder sound. You can make noticeable differences to the tone and characteristics of your guitar or bass' tone with just a simple turn of the impedance control.

Very good product, well built, easy to use. Software was a bit of a disappointment, it’s more like a trial as you only get a few presets included and have to pay for most features
