Here' what Ibanez have to say about the AS73

Ibanez introduced Artcore in 2002 and has been the hollow-body guitar of choice for musicians for the last 10 years. The Artcore's combination of quality workmanship and affordability has created legions of fans from diverse genres as blues, country, rock and jazz. Tried it against Gretsch Streamliner and Epiphone Dot. both excellent guitars but this one was equally as good as a guitar and had better pickups

Arrived well packed, properly set up. Had to make some minor adjustments to suit my likings. Plays and sounds wonderful. The neck is a dream, the finish and binding looks excellent. A perfect instrument, a bargain!

Mr Graham Adams14th Nov 2018

Really good quality for the price. A lot of bass in the tone.

Haven't totally tried out the guitar to it's fullest extent yet but I am certainly pleased with it.

I've always fancied owning a hollow body guitar so I decided to take a punt on this as a birthday treat and am very happy with it. Delivery was quick via UPS and the guitar was well packaged and arrived intact. The construction and finish had no obvious blemishes out of the box. The tobacco burst on this particular guitar is a little darker than the website picture but still looks great. The binding in particular has been very well installed all over. The factory setup was not too bad, although the intonation was well out. The action was nice and low with no fret buzz. The frets themselves were level and had no sharp edges although they were somewhat dull and required polishing. The fretboard was very dry but after using Gorgomyte and lemon oil, it now looks and feels fine. The neck is fairly chunky and is fast and smooth to play. It is quite a large guitar but is well balanced and very comfortable to play standing up or sitting down. At 3.4kg (7.5 lbs), it isn't too heavy. The supplied strings were D'Addario XL 10-52 but the mix of heavy and light weren't to my taste so I replaced them with D'Addario XL 11-49. Making adjustments was simple. The bridge intonation screws were initally a little stiff but soon freed up allowing the intonation on all strings to be accurately set using a strope tuner. One nice feature that every guitar should have is the fast-access sliding trapdoor on the truss rod cover! The machineheads are best described as adequate but have more play than I'd like and will probably be upgraded. The pickups were set too high but they were easy to lower and have good tone given the budget. The one lack of finesse to note is the mechanical thunk when the selector switch changes position, it is very loud! The pots are unbranded but have no scratching noise when they turn. Supplied accessories consist of an instruction book that covers most Ibanez guitars; a 4mm hex key and a page of instructions for truss rod adjustment. There was no cable. This guitar may not have the bling of more expensive models but is still an attractive looking and sounding instrument. It's a lot of fun to play and the range of tones it can produce from jazz and blues through to heavy rock are very surprisingly impressive. An absolute steal given the asking price. Get one!
