Product Description

Here at Andertons Music Co. we're fortunate enough to get our hands on a number Fender Custom Shop instruments, to give you a chance to own something truly special and unique. The '59 Strat Heavy Relic is a pure, old-school Stratocaster that traditionalists will simply adore.

With its worn aesthetics, time-honoured hardware and vintage-style electronics; this premium guitar is a late '50s Stratocaster through-and-through with an Ash body, Large "C"-shaped neck and retro-voiced pickups.

Time-Honoured Ash Body

The '59 Custom Shop Strat's body is formed from Ash, much like the very first solid-body electric guitars that Fender constructed in the '50s. Not only does this particular material give the guitar a forgiving weight, but its resonant and vibrant tonal qualities also offer a strong voice - serving as the perfect sonic foundation for the sweet-sounding pickups.

Old-School Neck Profile

Paired with a bolt-on quartersawn Maple neck, the famous Fender snap that you'd expect is very present, ensuring that you get the classic Strat spank. Finished in a nitrocellulose lacquer, this neck has a luxuriously smooth feel that has been artificially worn to give it a familiar and played-in impression.

Boasting a Large "C" profile that fills the hand, fans of early Stratocasters will be provided with a highly-authentic and substantial feel. Adorned with a sleek Rosewood fretboard, this provides some essential sturdiness to balance the overall sound of the instrument. Fitted with Narrow Tall 6105 frets, this wire has a vintage vibe that allows optimal control over vibrato and string bends.

Vintage-Voiced Strat Pickups

With a guitar that has the look of a vintage instrument you, of course, want the tone to match. This is where the pickups come in. With a ‘69 Strat pickup in the neck and a ‘65 Strat pickup in the middle position, you get that pure iconic Strat tone you know and love. In the bridge is something less-traditional, the Texas Special. Named after that gritty Texas Blues tone, the Texas Special is an overwound Strat pickup that provides a fatter and more aggressive sound for when you really want to turn up the gain!
