Here's what Pogo Pedals say about the TRS-1 Vintage Trem

The design platform used here is the vintage 1960’s Schaller Tremolo TR-68 that we reengineered and modernized in a 5 NPN high gain, high current silicon transistors, which sets it apart from the original circuit that only used 4 lower gain NPN silicon transistors.

We designed a paralleled clean dry signal path that blends together at an output mixer stage with the Trem effect. The clean level is controlled by a trim pot on the inside of the pedal. The stock trim pot setting has just a whisper of clean, but can be increased to the players taste by turning the trim pot clockwise to the right. We tweaked the Low-Frequency-Oscillator (LFO) to have a smoother range of a swampy heartbeat like throb, which increases the harmonic character and dynamics of the tremolo effect. Our Vintage Trem features two different styles of classic tremolo. When the Mode switch is toggled to Slow, the effect is a vintage volume amplitude tremolo. When toggled to fast, the effect is a harmonic tremolo like response that has a hint of phase shift to it.

Important Note: The analogue LFO takes 15 seconds to 45 seconds to charge 3 electrolytic capacitors and start working once 9VDC power is applied.

Controls

  • Level – Clockwise rotation controls the Tremolo effect level.
  • Depth – Clockwise rotation increases the amount of LFO depth level
  • Rate – Clockwise rotation increases the speed of the LFO
  • S & F (Mode) Toggle - S = Slow LFO speed, F = Fast LFO speed
