Collision Devices 'The Ranch' Organic Overdrive, Dynamic Tremolo & Boost Pedal

3 Effects, 2 Footswitches

You can combine the 3 effects, or just 2. The effects routing is: Drive - Tremolo - Boost. The right footswitch engages the drive circuit, with the left footswitch giving you access to the tremolo or the boost, or both! A single short push activates the boost, with a long held-down push engaging the tremolo. If an effect is enabled, a short push bypasses it. If the boost is already engaged, a long push will activate the tremolo so that both effects are on simultaneously.

Organic Drive

The overdrive controls are the 3 on The Ranch's top panel:

• Dust: Essentially the gain knob, ranging from a very smooth overdrive to a huge distortion. It's very sensitive to your playing inputs and also the type of pickup(s) and amplifier you use.
• Bright: This control adds some high mids and treble to your signal, without cutting the bass. Crank it to really cut through in a mix!
• Strength: The volume knob; allowing you to reduce or increase the drive level.

Dynamic Tremolo

The more you attack your strings, the faster it oscillates! Tremolo settings are accessed interally, and can be set with a screwdriver:

• Depth: Controls the presence of the tremolo.
• Sensitivity: Turn it clockwise to make the tremolo more sensitive to your picking attack.

You can set this to be sensitive and subtle, or more gated with a lot of presence. Turn the depth control to the left and sensitivity setting to the right to obtain the most dramatic tremolo effect.

Bombastic Boost

The boost circuit's volume is set via a trimmer pot inside the pedal. You can use this to hit the valves in your amplifier harder, to achieve a more saturated sound.

An Environmentally-Friendly Approach

The stompbox is manufactured with US Walnut, which grows up in Europe to reduce the carbon footprint. It offers a superb aspect once it is nourished, with its medium density making it strong and resistant. The enslosure is covered by a Pinatex slice, akin to leather, but without causing any harm to animals. The Pinatex is made with pineapple leaf fibre, which is an agricultural waste product. For ecological reasons, each pedal is polished with non chemically-treated linseed oil.

Each pedal is shipped in a recycled cardboard box and wrapped with linseed string. The Ranch is protected in the packaging by forest wood fragments. Collision Devices wanted to highlight the natural products like wood and their local partner Valdéfis. The little extra is that you can use the wood fragments as mulching for your plants or your garden!
