Since 2004, Crazy Tube Circuits have been making pedals with one aim - to capture the warmth and harmonic richness of real tubes. They design their pedals this way to provide you with more genuine and convincing tones, and the Space Charged is their first overdrive pedal featuring a real tube!

Authentic Overdrive:

The Space Charged has a 12AY7 preamp tube, which you can run from a high-current (350mA) 9V DC power supply. An internal voltage multiplier is integrated into the circuitry, which keeps the tube running smoothly to increase its longevity (and reliability!).

The use of a real tube in its design means that you get a warm and organic tone with a more amp-like sound and response. So if you gig a lot and have to borrow or use different amps every night, just add this to your pedalboard to ensure a consistently great sound, no matter what you plug into.

Despite having only 3 controls, the Space Charged is capable of a range of sounds. Use the Volume to affect the overall output of the pedal, and really crank it to push the internal tube even harder for more grunt. The Gain control delivers a wide spectrum of distortion, so you can go from a mild clean boost to saturated and punchy rock tones. The Tone knob is an EQ control that lets you adjust the upper mids and top-end. Set it low for smooth and creamy lead tones, or turn it up to get more bite and definition to let your riffs cut through any mix.

Crazy Tube pedals are made from some of the best components out there. All standard Crazy Tube Circuit pedals are built by hand on high-quality PCB, using Wima and Panasonic capacitors, precision metal film resistors, Alpha pots, Neutrik/Cliff jacks, high-quality 3PDT switches for true bypass, hand-selected transistors and Burr Brown/Texas Instruments opamps.

This means you not only get a pedal that sounds amazing, but that is also built to last. Its space-themed graphics and artwork will also make this one of the more-inspiring pedals on your board, taking you out of this world!
