Product Description

It's cute until you hear it! This is the classic ProCo Lil' Rat - yep, the fuzzy distortion hybrid that defined grunge and emo tones - squeezed into a stompbox only two inches wide. It packs exactly the same punch as the full size Rat, with dark, moody low gain vibes through to searing heat on high gain settings at your disposal.

How to use the Rat

The beauty of the Lil' Rat lies in its versatility. It excels at rock rhythm tones and soaring leads with the gain and filter set around 12 o'clock. Does your amp have a little too much headroom for the perfect tube sparkle? The Rat nails that sweet spot where a tube amp transitions from squeaky clean to warm breakup. If you love your amp's gain staging, you can keep the Rat low as a boost to get the extra kick you need for solos.

Any Rat user will tell you how vital the filter control is to your tone. Turn it clockwise to roll off brittle high-end frequencies. Having trouble cutting through the mix? Turn the filter down to let the natural brightness of your instrument to shine. While there's no mistaking the legendary RAT tone when the pedal is on, true bypass switching guarantees that no extra noise will creep into your signal when it's turned off.
