Octave Fuzz Pedals

One of the staples of the early psychedelic rock sound, the octave fuzz is a uniuque sound as it combines the spluttery aggression of a fuzz with an additional octave for an even greater harmonic depth. It's ideal for adding extra depth to lead lines, as exemplified by Jimi Hendrix in "Purple Haze". For exaggerated octave effects try playing on the neck pickup with the tone rolled off for the octave to cut through even sharper. 

While most octave fuzzes only feature an octave up, some also include an octave down, creating a heavy, dark tone perfect for grunge or doom styles.
