    Product Description

Fjord Fuzz creates out-of-the-ordinary guitar pedals that really push the sonic boundaries. The Norwegian company's BIFROST stompbox is one of their most innovative yet, combining their signature fuzz circuit with a unique delay effect — allowing you to form unique, saturated soundscapes or pulsating, heavily-textured riffs.

The BIFROST really is a shoegazer's dream, and gives you the ability to create warped, self-oscillating delay/fuzz effects without blowing up your amp - thanks to an ingenious hard limiter that prevents ear-splitting feedback. Compatible with an expression pedal, you can manually control BIFROST's delay time without taking your hands away from your guitar — letting your creativity flow!

Please Note: The control plate on this pedal is made from copper which, as it oxidises, will develop marks and change colour over time giving each pedal a unique appearance.

    About Fjord Fuzz

Fjord Fuzz are a tiny boutique pedal brand based in Bergen, Norway. Built "by real musicians for real musicians" — in their own words — Fjord's unique circuits completely warp your guitar's signal with glitchy, tone-altering, high-gain filth!

The company's speaker-shredding stompboxes are solely designed for experimental guitarists who crave the most extreme of tones, and frankly — they have to be heard to be believed! Engulfing walls of fuzzy bliss, self-oscillating pitch bends and sub-octave bellows make Fjord Fuzz's products far from conventional — and we mean that in the nicest way possible!

Here's what Fjord Fuzz says about the BIFROST:

BIFROST is the delay I always wanted. I've always found it useful adding a bit of drive at the end of my pedal chain, just before going into the delays and reverbs, so I added a very cool fuzz that takes you from crispy, clean preamp tones, to very heavy and bold fuzz. You can also disengage it completely via internal push button switch.

Furthermore, my favourite trick with delays has always been turning the feedback to max and playing the pitch with the time knob, but this leads to two obvious challenges:

    • 1: The feedback becomes so loud you start worrying about blowing up your amp.
    • 2: You have to actually bend over and fiddle your knobs with your hands.

I fixed both of these issues. The feedback has a hard limiter installed, helping you avoid volume issues, but it also squeezes the repeats in a really cool way. This is important for one very special feature:

I added a secondary feedback knob switchable via foot switch and an expression pedal input for the delay time control. This in turn gives you hands free operation of the UFO crash landings of your dreams, and the limiter squeezes the delays in a way that makes the whole thing sound like some kind of broken theremin. It's amazing.

You can obviously also change the delay time on the fly wether or not you're using self-oscillation or fuzz, and I find it to be a much more musical feature than a tap-tempo module. You have to bend and morph in and out of time and it's a really wonderful thing. It allows you to add faux vibrato, flanger, chorus and whammy effects to whatever you're doing and you never have to actually change the time knob, as its disconnected when you plug in the exp pedal.

First of all, this pedal is gorgeous. The raw copper look with the lights is amazing! You can immediately tell that this is a quality piece of equipment, the pots feel great, very smooth with a ton of response. The description given by the maker says he uses it for some dirt on the end of the pedal chain along with the delay. I have tried this pedal both straight into the front and at the end of the signal chain. It is amazing in both positions. In the front it drives the amp as hard as you like, tons of dirt if you want it, and with the delay at the front, it has a whole different feel on the feedback and trails. When it goes at the end of the chain it does whatever you like, it'll clean up and give a nice delay, or add however much dirt you want to really drive that tone home. I have not had the pleasure of using it with an expression pedal, but you can tell with a little shoegazing that it could really bring this beast to life. The Bi-Frost button (left switch) can make this pedal go crazy with the infinite feedback for some wild crash landings. I love this pedal and plan to buy the Odin as well to have one at the beginning and end of my chain. If you have any other questions, Pete and Lee did a review on it, and Rabea and Pete did a second video on the rest of the pedals. GET ONE!

Great pedal. Having hrs of fun with it. No instructions. Brown cardboard box and bubble wrap as packaging. Little disappointing. Hidden feature inside the pedal. Turns it into a delay pedal. Too much pedal for my guitar knowledge. I love it

Really nice pedal. Does not sound very good in the low end (e.g. bassy synths), but perfect for guitar!
