Emerson Custom CONCORD Utility Buffer
Every guitarist needs a good buffer especially if you are using a few pedals. The Concord buffer will push the signal of your guitar without ever changing how it sounds. And because all of these pedals are hand-assembled in the States, you can have the peace of mind that you're getting a really high-quality buffer.
Even using longer cables can change the tone of your guitar but the Concord will bring back that top end sparkle that can be lost when going through pedals. And you only really notice the massive difference a buffer makes when you take it out of the signal chain.
Where to place it
Emerson themselves have said that their Concord goes best right at the start of your signal chain. Unless you are using a vintage fuzz, which should always go first in the chain to retain its original character and sound.
Every Emerson pedal is hand assembled in Tulsa, Oklahoma by a small team that all triple check their pedals before leaving the factory.
9-18v Power Supply
The EM-Drive can be run off of 9 or 18v to change the headroom of the pedal. Running it at 9v will decrease the headroom meaning it will compress and distort at a lower volume. But using the pedal on 18v will give you a much bigger boost due to the increased headroom. More power means it won't compress as easily giving you cleaner distortion sounds.
Here's what Emerson Custom say about the Concord
Handbuilt in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma USA using premium audio grade components to provide ultimate clarity and signal response. This utility pedal "buffers" your signal to bring back the clarity and high end sparkle of your input signal that is lost when you use a lot of pedals and/or have lots of cable between your guitar or bass, and your amp. This pedal is a tool that once you have on your rig you'll never wanna be without it. It can be run at 9-18v (18v for more headroom).
We recommend placing the Concord Buffer as the first device in your signal chain. If you are using a vintage fuzz pedal such as a Fuzz Face or Tone Bender we recommend placing the Concord after those devices to retain their character and relationship with your instrument's electronics.
