Product Description

Your board is under threat from a new type of tonal warfare – it’s time to up the ante. Enter the DEFCON4 Preamp/EQ/Boost pedal from Walrus Audio, designed in conjunction with US singer-songwriter Ryan Adams!

A Sonic Deterrent

The DEFCON4 from Walrus Audio & Ryan Adams aims to target your tonal woes at the source. Offering three powerful functions and a surprisingly simple interface, it aims to prepare your rig at ground-level for whatever comes your way.

Triple-Threat

It’s designed to be placed at the start of your chain, providing you with a tone that’s consistent, dynamic, and ready to strike at a moment’s notice. It acts as a preamp, enriching your tone and ensuring it travels onward without losing strength or clarity.

Next up, the 3-band EQ allows you to cut, boost or bypass selected frequencies for a colourful tonal palette. This makes changing between single-coils and humbuckers an absolute breeze, and other pedals will respond well too – no matter how many there are!

Finally, arm the Launch switch and kick it into DEFCON1 – the danger zone – for a 10db MOSFET boost. This makes your leads sizzle and riffs snarl like you wouldn’t believe!

Retro Enclosure

From the backlit world map (complete with missile launch patterns) to the glowing digital grid that covers the interface, the DEFCON4 just oozes ‘80s cool.

The retro-style three EQ knobs come with an accompanying switch to bypass the respective frequencies, and the irresistible Launch switch deserves a safety warning. It even comes in an old-school blister pack - what’s not to love?
