SoloDallas mastermind Fil Olivieri built the company on creating an authentic recreation of the legendary Schaffer Vega Diversity Wireless System. These units were prototyped in the mid '70s, and were not only hailed as one of the first and most effective wireless guitar solutions, but also lauded for the sound they produced.

Despite the fact that this equipment was originally intended as a wireless system for performers, the tone they produced was the reason they ultimately became the stuff of legend. When Schaffer ceased production of the SVDS, its incredible tone slipped into obscurity - and that's where Solo Dallas come in!

Fil Olivieri was an avid AC/DC fan who spent much of his time seeking out the iconic sound that put the Young Brothers on the map. When he discovered that they used SVDS units both live and in the studio as part of their earth-shattering rigs, he set about finding one and recreating it; the result was the Schaffer Replica, which proved to be a huge hit among guitar aficionados, and set Solo Dallas on the path to success!

The Storm

The Storm was essentially designed as a concise, stompbox version of the Solo Dallas Schaffer Replica, more compact than their TSR4 pedal and offering a number of tweaked features - this one takes the game up a notch! The original Replica takes the form of a heavy, towering unit comparable to an old PC, so the natural next step was to create something even more practical and accessible for the modern guitarist.

It actually uses the same analog limiter used in the original Schaffer Replica EX tower, delivering the legendary tone in its entirety! The aim of the game is to enhance the harmonic resonance of your guitar, boosting all the right frequencies without causing intrusive noise or over-saturation. It simply adds power and depth to any sound! 

You've got three controls at your disposal: the 'snap' controls the compression circuit, reverse-engineered from the original Schaffer units, adding beautiful sustain and a sensitive dynamic response. The 'power' and 'storm' controls essential work in coordination to control the amount of boost and 'grit' that you want to add, giving you a whopping 31dB of clean boost!
