The Custom 22 may not be the original PRS design but the small tweaks made when compared to the Custom 24 give it its own unique voice that versatile guitarists love. This SE version of the Custom 22 brings the same range of tones and great playability to a price point that will suit every level of guitar player.
Same Stunning Design
Designed on the same principles that made the original Custom 22 so popular the SE Custom 22 still has the same mahogany body topped with flamed maple as well as a mahogany neck and rosewood fretboard. Cut to the same 25" scale length and with the same neck join you get the same feel and variety in tones.
By scrapping two frets of the fretboard the bridge and bridge pickup need to be moved back to keep the same scale length. This means there is a greater distance between pickups meaning that you get a bigger difference in tone between the pickups.
Tone Furnace Pickups
Speaking of the pickups the ones in this guitar are not something you see every day. The PRS SE Tone Furnace pickups were recently launched as a hot rocking pickup that cools done wonderfully with a turn of the volume knob.
These can handle anything you will chuck at it from heavy metal to blues and rock depending on your amp and rig of choice. PRS have always been known for versatility and this is no different to any of their other guitars.
